Description from owner

Description

Our traditional log cabin is located conveniently in the Lofoten islands nearby the Moskenes ferry terminal. If you rather want to fly to Lofoten, you can take a bus to the cabin, or of course rent your own car. You will stay in a traditional log cabin built around the 1890s, with a fire place and directly located over the water. The cabin was completely refurbished in 2013. Modern day amenities are in place, but we have kept the old charm of the cabin. Does this sound interesting to you, please enquire with us. Also please note that we only provide the accommodation, but will be happy to advise where and how you can reach us, or what you can do while visiting.

Location description from owner

Northern Norway region

Lofoten is located between the 68th and 69th parallels placing it just north of the Arctic Circle in North Norway. It is well known in Norway and abroad for its natural beauty. The principal islands, running from north to south, are the southern tip of Hinnøya, southern 60 % (approx.) of Austvågøy, then Gimsøy, Vestvågøy, Flakstadøya, and Moskenesøya, which is the island that our cabin is located on. Further to the south are the small and isolated islands of Værøy and Røst. The total land in the Lofoten islands area amounts to 1,227 km².

Tind

The cabin is located in the small fishing village of Tind, and you can still today see the fishing boats docking in the harbour in front of the rorbu. Here are some suggestions to what you can do while you are visiting Tind.

- Walk 15 minutes to Å and join an organized fishing trip to add fresh fish to your dinner menu.
- Take a moderate hike up to a nearby peak, where the view of Lofoten is spectacular.
- If you are more adventurous, there are many peaks in the area you can explore, with various difficulty levels; however you should only attempt this if you are experienced in winter conditions and avalanche training. Speak to locals before setting out, and be cautious.
- You can also enquire with the local adventure companies, that offer diving tours, sea rafting tours, climbing, kayaking, hiking and biking tours to name some.

In sum, Tind and Lofoten is the ideal place for visitors looking for adventure or cultural heritage and relaxing experience alike.
