The Basse-Normandie region
The Normandy scenery is stunning and there are beautiful rivers, gorges, forests, lakes and miles of sandy beaches for you to explore.
We are close to many historical sites such as the chateau in Falaise, Bayeux (tapestry), the Normandy landing beaches, Pegasus bridge, the chateaux and abbeys in Caen.
Nearby are the lovely seaside towns of Trouville, Deauville and Honfleur and further inland we have the pretty towns/villages of Pont d'Ouilly, Clecy, Domfront, Caen, Flers and Falaise.
Normandy is famous for its cider production, calvados and pommeau, the cheeses of Camembert and Pont L'Eveque, local goats cheese, cream and honey. You can try and buy the produce direct from the farms.
For the children there are lots of theme parks, zoo's, maize mazes in summer, tree top adventure parks, swimming pools, ice skating, boating, fishing, walks, climbing, museums, beaches and lakes.

"Super little gite in a great location"
This gite was just as described and a perfect location for our short break. Very helpful owners. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

"quiet, relaxing comfortable stay"
We spent a lovely week in our cottage. Peta and Jason were great hosts, and the cottage was spotlessly clean, and had all the necessaries. It was great after a full day driving around this beautiful area, to come back to a warm cottage and relax. We fed the "chooks" with our food scraps every morning, it was a real country stay, and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Even the driving "on the wrong side of the road"!!! got better over the week, and after a lot of screaming U'ies, we felt quite confident in the car. Oh, we are Aussies, so it was an experience on the roads, something we should have done when we were younger perhaps, but it was an adventure. Swisse Normandy is the prettiest part of France, (we think), and the cottage is centrally located, which is beaut that time of year, when the daylight hours are limited, to know you would be home soon. Recommend the bakery in Clecy, for their quiche, and a trip to Honfleur is a must. If you are lucky enough to stay here, I hope the weather is as good as it was for us, and you get to meet the goose, he is a beauty.
