This beautifully presented two bedroom bungalow sleeps up to four guests and one dog. Thirlwall is located at the foot of the Blencathra mountain range, in the popular village of Threlkeld near Keswick. Due to the unique location of Thirwall guests can enjoy the spectacular views of St John's in the Vale and mountain ranges such as Helvellyn, High Rigg and Great Dodd from the comfort of their own living room, patio or the garden.
Thirwall offers the benefits of a modern,well presented single level accommodation for families or couples, either wanting an outdoor based holiday or just pure relaxation.

After a long drive up to the Lake district we entered the bungalows sitting room & all we could say was "Wow!"...the view is stunning & the photos do not do it justice. Check in was really easy with a key box, although we did meet the owner who was lovely & seems to work tirelessly to keep the glorious garden looking it's best. The bungalow was really clean, comfortable, light & spacious & Threkeld is a great base to explore the Lakes from. The Horse & Farrier & village tea room serve lovely food & if you stay I would recommend that you walk or drive to the car park at the top of the road in front of the bungalow as the view is stunning with a lake & tarn in view. It seemed a really easy drive to many of the lakes & attractions & although it is just off the A66 the village still had a peaceful community feel. If we ever come back to the lakes then we would definitely return to Thirwell cottage.

Furniture is arranged to enjoy the magnificent view from the large windows. Comfy warm house with everything we needed, including well equiped kitchen. Walks from the door for track towards Skiddaw house or up Saddleback. Express bus has a stop in Threlkeld. Bungalow was ideal for my elderly mother.

Just had a 5 on night stay over Christmas ,first time in the lake district and couldn't have found a better property to spend it in.fully equipped, cosy warm and spotlessly clean,the view from the sofa is breathtaking ,Valerie the owner was a pleasure to meet .will be back in summer ,thanks for a great Christmas.

I visited the Lake District with a group of friends and we had such a lovely time! The bungalow is lovely, much nicer than the pictures. The photos do not do the view justice at all. The bungalow was cute, perfect for a few friends to get together. The kitchen was perfectly equipped so we could easily cook in after a day walking around. It was spotlessly clean and well looked after. Some of the furniture has been updated since the photos were taken. Valerie, the owner could be seen throughout the day, mowing the lawn, maintaining the garden and doing laundry and her hard work definitely showed. Locally, there's a few pubs which are a stroll away and we had a lovely dinner there one night. Keswick and Grasmere are both really close too. Lots of beautiful walks, tea rooms, pubs and sights nearby as well. It's great value for money and I would definitely consider returning and would recommend to a friend!
