This attractive detached Period Victorian house has parts dating back to the Elizabethan period and is full of charm and character, with many of the original features, such as the large fireplaces, the wonderful beamed rooms and oak panelling. It is situated in the lovely area of Thorpe St Andrew on the outskirts of the cathedral city of Norwich. It is close to St Andrews church plus several excellent riverside pubs, such as the Rushcutters Arms, and The Buck. There is also a friendly cafe nearby, and from the front of the house there are lovely views of the river opposite, which is a popular place for feeding visiting ducks and swans!The North Norfolk coastline, with sandy beaches, nature and bird reserves, is within easy reach, and you will be right in the heart of the Norfolk Broads. The fine city of Norwich with its cathedrals, theatres, museums, and superb array of shops and cafes, is well worth spending some time exploring. It is a 10 minute drive by car, or there is a bus route

There is a good selection of games and DVD's. The Dining room has a large dining table seating up to 8 and period fireplace. The Family sitting room / childrens playroom has a corner sofa (which is also a sofabed), a large TV with free Sky channels and Surround Sound, a Blu-Ray player and Wii console with a good selection of games. There is a spacious kitchen with double gas cooker, dishwasher, and american style fridge freezer with ice maker. A pine breakfast table seats up to 8, and there is an additional low level freezer and fridge, microwave and coffee machine.The large utility room contains washing machine and tumbledryer.The downstairs bathroom has a walk-in shower and toilet. Upstairs there is a huge landing with impressive oak staircase, sofa and bookcase. 3 double bedrooms, including Master bedroom with oak four-poster bed and views over the river. 2 twin bedrooms. 1 additional single trundle-bed (can be positioned according to requirements)Oak panelled / tiled bathroom with bath, basin and toilet. Second bathroom with freestanding bath / shower. Separate toilet part way up main staircase. Additional staircase at rear of property leading up from utility room.Electricity, full gas fired CH, bed linen and towels included. Sky TV (free channels) in both drawing room and playroom, Large enclosed rear garden with childrens climbing frame/slide, sandpit, playhouse and trampoline as well as garden table/ chairs and gas BBQ. Parking (for 2 cars); further roadside parking. No smoking or pets. Saturday to Saturday.

Norfolk is a beautiful region of the UK, with the attractions of the Norfolk Broads, the wonderful cathedral city of Norwich, and the great coastal towns and beaches of North Norfolk. Some wonderful beaches can be found around the Norfolk coastline, with highlights including Wells, Cromer, Blakney and Holkham. Or you may want to sample the alternative appeal of Great Yarmouth which will certainly keep the children happy ....!! If you fancy exploring the Norfolk Broads, head for Wroxham or Potter Heigham, where there are a number of options for hiring a variety of different types of boats.The city of Norwich itself has many attractions, including shopping, the fine cathedral, plus a renouned theatre and several cinemas.Within easy reach are several National Trust properties, including Oxburgh Hall, Blickling Hall and Felbrigg Hall, all of which are well worth a days visit.
