Description

Little Nettle Cottage is situated in the quiet secluded village of Thornton Rust, where you can choose from either a luxury self catering holiday cottage for 2 , or Bracken Cottage our self catering cottage for up to 4 people, which is in the same location and appointed to the same high standard as Little Nettle Cottage. Our peaceful village sits just a moment away from the famous Aysgarth Falls, yet because we are not on the main road we can offer unrivalled tranquility to guests looking to get away from it all.

We have underfloor heating , internet access and a steam room for your exclusive enjoyment in Little Nettle, as well as a log burning stove to cosy up next to after a long days walking or exploring. There is a fully fitted kitchen and no expense has been spared on the creation of relaxing beauty to match the surroundings, from the luxuriant steam room to the Vllleroy and Bosch bathroom fittings.

Aysgarth - with its glorious falls - is but 2 miles away, yet we are far away from the madding crowd. The quaint market towns of Hawes, Leyburn and Richmond, with its medieval castle and market square, are a short drive away, with shops, museums and various local attractions. There are limitless possibilities for walkers and mountain bikers just a stone's throw away.

We allow one small dog in the cottage, and have an outdoor kennel with a run for larger or more than one dog. For larger groups the 2 properties, Little Nettle and Bracken Cottage can accommodate 6 people. Please see Bracken Cottage.

“Good base for exploring Wensleydale.”

Reviewed 9 Nov 2016

Comfortable but not spacious accommodation. Very helpful owners. Suggest better lights for reading in the Lounge.

“Couldn't fault it”

A great little place to stay for our short break in Yorkshire. Friendly owner, lovely walks from close-by, dog-friendly, all mod-cons, would like to go for longer next time.

“Cozy cottage of excellent standard”

Reviewed 24 Apr 2014

Excellent cottage which is situated in a small hamlet yet within easy reach of Hawes and Leyburn. The cottage is of a very high standard, comfortable and extremely well equipped. I would certainly recommend a visit to Little Nettle Cottage.

“An amazing cottage for 2 in Wendleydale”

Reviewed 3 Apr 2013

Barry and Colette, have a fantastic cottage for 2, this cottage is very warm with fantastic underfloor heating, fully equipped kitchen with a great fan oven. The bathroom is also a steam room which is very good indeed. The Bedroom which is upstairs is very high quality standard, the bed is very comfortable too. Finally the lounge area is equipped with TV, DvD and SKY with surround sound and an amazing wood burner, this place is truly an amazing place to stay. it is situated in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales, Wensleydale. If you know the Dales well and like to visit all the nice little villages then Little Nettle Cottage is a fantastic base. We will be coming again soon. Dave & Jadzia

“A Little Gem in the Country”

Reviewed 24 Mar 2013

My partner and I stayed at Little Nettle Cottage for the second time recently and we will definately return again. Not only do you receive a very warm welcome from Barry and Colette, the owners who live next door, but the cottage itself is beautiful. We rarely stay more than once at any cottage as we like to explore other places but once you've been to Little Nettle you'll want to go back. There are lovely local walks, which quite often have a cosy pub at the end of them, but also lots of places to see that are just a short drive away. The quality and comfort of the cottage itself is of a very high standard and the log fire is the icing on the cake! However, don't take my word for it, try it and see as you wont be disappointed!
