Protected by a natural coral reef just about where the Atlantic Ocean meets the Caribbean Sea, Crane Beach boasts one of the best swimming venues on the island of Barbados. Besides being safe and having a gentle descent from shallow to deep, it's also soft on your feet as there are no sea urchins, stones or coral underneath. However, the location is on the southeast coast of Barbados, where at times the sea current may become strong. Caution should be exercised at all times.
Bar 1887, jazz bar features live nightly entertainment. On Sundays The Crane offers live entertainment during our Gospel Buffet Breakfast and Buffet Lunch in L’Azure. L’Azure and Zen restaurants feature soft piped music.
There is now a new Beach Grill. The menu includes such items as Crane homemade burgers (beef and fish) barbequed chicken, grilled catch of the day, grilled potatoes and french fries. No need to leave the beach!
For nightlife and large selection of Restraunts and Bars, the south and west coast is about 30 minutes away

"Yet again, an amazing stay!"
Yet again our stay at The Crane and the Penthouse was beautifully relaxing and just what we needed. We were amazed on our return that some of the staff in the Carriage house remembered us! Everything we wanted was available on site or in the apartment and we LOVE The Crane beach - now with the addition of the beach bar, where you can grab a bite to eat - there really is no reason to move. We would never hesitate to book again and look forward to returning again! Thank you once again Peter!
Many thanks for taking the time to respond. We are very glad that The Crane is still one of your favourate places to stay in Barbados.

"An amazing get away"
I’ve never understood why the Crane receives anything other than positive reviews and as frequent travellers to Barbados for the last 15 years, my wife and I just don’t get it. The resort has an amazing cliff top location, overlooking the picturesque Atlantic Ocean on the south eastern coast and the site is very large compared to other hotels on the island. With expertly manicured landscaped gardens and amazing views of the ocean, it is hidden away in a corner of the island away from the over developed west coast and is a great place to relax and chill out. Admittedly, its location is a little trickier to get out and about to see what Barbados has to offer (even though it’s only 10 mins from the airport) although having said that it is a small island and a day trip to anywhere is manageable. We have toured the island many times and have not found a view as impressive as that of the Crane. Our suite was very spacious with a double bedroom, two bathrooms, kitchen and balcony and was all very well furnished to a high standard. With a well equipped kitchen (from cutlery to pots and pans – makes it so it was easy to prepare our own food), a washer/dryer and dishwasher. The private roof terrace was accessed by a spiral staircase from the balcony, with a table, chairs and a grill for barbequing, a couple of sun loungers and a plunge pool and a great (distant) view of the sea. Because it is located away from the hustle and bustle of Bridgetown, the overall atmosphere of the complex is very relaxing. However if you are looking for nightlife and dance clubs, then this is not the resort for you. Having a car is helpful but the resort does provide transportation to the local supermarket. There are numerous swimming pools, several restaurants, a bar and various shops including a convenience store. All of the staff were genuinely friendly (especially all smiles to our 2 year old daughter) and accommodating as were the other guests we encountered and there was a manager's cocktail party on the Monday evening where they served rum punch. The restaurants on the resort are all good, especially Zen (Thai/Japanese), but The Grill at the Carriage House is a little over priced in comparison to the others. Waking up every morning and having breakfast overlooking the beautiful beach was fantastic. We can certainly see why the Crane beach is one of the top ten most beautiful beaches in the world! (Condé Nast) All in all, we really enjoyed our stay and think the hotel was amazing and has the potential to be a five star. We had a fantastic stay at the Crane and would certainly recommend it to those people looking to relax in the sun, amongst beautiful surroundings. We are already planning on returning next year.
Many thanks for taking the time to let us know you enjoyed the Crane Experience. We have been Owners at the Crane for almost 14 years and it gets better on each visit.

The place was amazing. Beautiful room and amenities and great service. We were thrilled with the whole week. The pools were great for the kids and the beach was breath taking. Yes it's rough and you can't let the small kids in on their own but wow just beautiful. We are already thinking about returning. Thanks so much Peter!
Many thanks for taking the time to comment. We also enjoy the Crane and beaches everytime we visit.

"Top Class Resort"
This is a first class resort in substantial well kept grounds, numerous swimming pools, 3/4 restaurants, a bar and various shops including a convience store with a limited but adequate range of goods and they will obtain meat and fish to order. The appartment is very spacious with two bathrooms, a bedroom, kitchen and lounge area and balcony and is very well furnished. It has a washng machine & dryer and a dishwasher. There is a roof terrace accessed by a spiral staircase from the balcony. The roof terrace has a table, chairs, a grill and sink, sun loungers and a plunge pool. There are distant views of the sea. It would be suitable for disabled persons as there is lift access to the appartment but access to the roof would be difficult. The only other problem which stuck me was that the bed is very high from the ground and it is difficult to get in and out for a smaller person and could be a problem for a disabled person. We did not ask but the hotel might very well provide a small step to assist. All staff we encoutered were very friendly. There was a manager's cocktail party on the Monday evening at which very good rum punch was served. We ate at all of the resturants and they were very good and averagely priced by Barbados standards. Our favourite was L'Azure mainly for the views. The beach is lovely but access is by stairs or a lift. On a couple of days the lift was not working. Not a problem for us but possibly for less able bodied. The location is somewhat remote but we remained on site the whole week as we have visited the island on many occassions and have seen most of the places of interest now.
Many thanks for taking the time to write your comprehensive review. The Crane is somewhere special where one can completely relax. We are pleased that you enjoyed your holiday, and look forward to seeing you again.

"Fantastic resort with good facilities but never felt crowded"
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Crane Resort. Apartment well finished and very clean. Restaurants on site not too expensive and of good quality. Staff and service exemplary.

Wow, what a stunning setting, the Crane Resort is a throwback to all the things that used to make a great resort. Such as, genuine helpful service, beautiful grounds with clean interesting pools, good value and quality restaurants, stunning beach with plentiful sun beds , towels and beach service. ( the beach guys also remove guests towels etc, after they have been left unattended for an hour or more) quite rightly too, some guests thought it acceptable to put down towels at 7 am and return at 11! This daily spectacle was great entertainment!! The apartment had everything that you require, was cleaned daily, is spacious and close to all amenities, with good air con and ceiling fans. We hired a car and Barbados is gorgeous, and very safe. However, the stunning natural beauty of the Crane is unsurpassed. Highly recommended. Thank you, Peter.
Very glad you enjoyed the Crane experience. We have been holidaying there for many years and still enjoy it. Thankyou for bothering to comment. Look forward to seeing you again.

This was our first trip to Barbados and I can say we were truly amazed at the whole experience. The Crane is a wonderful resort on the eats coast of Barbados, where we got a constant breeze, which was very much appreciated on those long hot sunny days. The apartment was spacious, with a large lounge area and kitchen (with breakfast bar & table). The kitchen was fully equipped for meal in, including dishwasher tablets, cloths etc.The bedroom was huge with an ensuite bathroom (an additional shower room too) - with doors that slide all the way back on to a huge patio. Up the spiral stair case on the patio, we were welcomed to our own private pool and BBQ area - which we made lots of use of in the afternoon/evening. The shop on site provides all of the essential you may need, although we used the Trimart supermarket about a 15 mins bus ride away - they provide a free shuttle back to the resort if you shop there (as does the suprmarket at the Emerald city) The restaurants on site provide a good variety of options, from lazy long light lunches at The carriage house, with views over the pool and ocean. To more formal dining at Zen, with Japanese and Thai cuisine. The beach was true paradise, and we spent everyday there, with fresh coconut and rum(of course) - the resort provide beach/pool towels and you can change them as frequently as you wish. Whilst we were there we visited a lot of the island, using the buses and always felt safe. The locals were always so welcoming and friendly and eager to points us in the right direction. Experience the local cuisine, whilst there, we went to a local bar called Sparkies Place, where the food was what the Bajan people eat and amazing. And don't forget Oistins fish fry too. The process of booking with Peter & Susan was easy and straight forward and always helpful to answer our many questions (sorry Peter!) I can not recommend the Crane and the apartment highly enough - we felt so relaxed and at home. And cannot wait to visit again.......hopefully very soon. Anyone thinking of booking The Crane, do not hesitate!
Thankyou for your comprehensive narrative of your holiday at The Crane and first visit to Barbados. We have been going there for many years, and still enjoy the experience. We look forward to seeing you again.
