Description

Set on the edge of a millpond and looking towards the Estate Manor House, it is hard to imagine a more stunning, picture postcard location for a holiday property. Grist Mill, located just outside the village of Uley on the Owlpen Estate, is an 18th Century watermill hidden at the bottom of a small valley, deep in the beautiful Gloucestershire Cotswolds. Although historic and listed, the mill has been carefully and sympathetically restored to provide spacious, charming (and unique!) holiday accommodation. The ground floor is mainly open plan with great views in all directions. Upstairs are the bedrooms, all a good size, but with quirks to remind you of the building's history! With the Estate office able to offer help and advice during your stay, you'll never be short of things to do - if you intend to keep busy of course. You could do absolutely nothing equally!!

With the Estate office able to offer help and advice during your stay, you'll never be short of things to do - if you intend to keep busy of course. You could do absolutely nothing equally!!

Outside is the gigantic mill wheel (stationary!) and millpond - a haven for wild life and bird activity, while beyond is the private Estate land which offers miles and miles of walking through woods and fields which will evoke memories of the 'golden, olden days' of old fashioned holiday treks. This is an exceptional location where it is hard not to relax and unwind. The nearby village of Uley has a Post Office/village shop, two pubs and a brewery, so you're not far from village activity. Heavenly!

Location description from manager

The Cotswolds region

Tetbury

Uley village, approximately 10 mins walk away, is a thriving village, located deep in the Cotswolds hills - an area of truly outstanding natural beauty in every sense. With miles and miles of paths and walks, you are able to step back in time and enjoy a location where time has certainly stood still and where the four seasons of the year really come to life.

Owlpen is no more than a hamlet, and yet you are a short drive from two thriving and bustling towns - 5 miles from Nailsworth and Stroud and about 8 miles to the west of Tetbury, the latter of which is best known for its antique and also it connections with Prince Charles and Royalty. Uley village provides for all of your basic needs including a shop and couple of pubs - one of which
