"Comfortable cottage in a great location"
We have just spent a week in Saddlers Cottage and had a fantastic time. We particularly enjoyed having a swimming pool on site which gave us somewhere to go with the kids when the weather was too cold. The location of the cottage is superb. Heatherton and Anna’s Farm is walking distance away and there are many other things to do in the area. We had a couple of great meals in the garden centre in St Florence and tried out both the local pubs too! The house is warm, comfortable and well equipped and we are all looking forward to returning at some point in the near future with some extended family.

"Did what it needed to with some shortcomings."
The cottage was a pleasant place to stay, and easy to keep warm with the electric heaters There were five of us initially then four, the beds in the two main bedrooms were of adult size, not great quality but adequate, the beds in the bunk room were for my 6'2" son, a little short, and could really only be considered as beds for up to an adolescent age. This room was tiny also. The main issue was of hot water supply. When everyone wanted to have a shower the hot water ran out after three showers, leaving two of us to tramp across the car park to the swimming pool where a reasonable shower could be had. I had a bath one night and there was not enough hot water either to fill the bath to a decent level or to be anywhere near hot enough to be pleasant. A tea pot would also have been very useful; in this case I had to buy one at a local car boot sale which served the purpose. Returning to the swimming pool, this was beautifully clean and hot, too warm for swimming, but then it was only a short pool so more for relaxing in than anything else. The sauna was great but took ages to heat up, due largely to the supervisor insisting on leaving the door open when it was not being used. The gym not good, too cold and poorly equipped. Generally we enjoyed staying at the house, but would have had a very different slant had I paid the full summer price and found it the same condition.
Thank you for your review. Unfortunately any house that uses an immersion heater, rather than a combi boiler, for it's supply of hot water will experience insufficient water supply if all occupants use the water supply at the same time! It is easy to put the water on constant and slightly stagger the times that everyone showers so that the tank has time to heat up again. Thank you for your feedback regarding the beds. It has been our intention to replace the beds and I will now prioritise this. I'm sorry you were unable to benefit from the improvements made in the two weeks following your departure. The house now has a wonderful new kitchen and new flooring throughout. New equipment for the gymnasium has also been ordered.
