Getting around

Carew Cheriton is a small village conveniently located for Tenby, Pembroke, Manorbier, and the Cleddau Estuary. It is situated along the A477. The nearest train station is Lamphey, four miles away; however, as this is only a request stop, it is recommended that guests travelling by train stop at the larger Haverfordwest or Pembroke Dock instead. There is one limited bus service that passes through four times a day between Pembroke and Tenby, but a car is highly recommended for this location.

“South Wales is stunning, plenty to do for the whole family”

We have been staying in holiday cottages around the UK for many years and we have not had such wonderful weather. When we arrived at the cottage it felt a little damp and there were quite few spiders webs around. This is also the first time we have been asked to pay for towels (so we were slightly disappointed with the quality of the towels provided). Also, a lamp was left in a dangerous broken condition and should have been spotted and removed.The garden is wonderful and we had many meals outside. The location is excellent; we managed to visit most of Pembrokeshire without feeling that our holiday was spent mostly in the car. Stackpole NT was a good base. All in all we had a great time! I think a little more thought and concentration on the simple little things would really enhance the experience: dishwasher tablets, washing up liquid, more than one roll of toilet, better towels and more than one tea-towel. Thanks

The damp, it is an old cottage and we do have some damp but that is generally in the winter not the summer so can't really comment on that. Cottage is 200 years old and old stone cottages need ventilation during hot weather when the dampness comes out of the walls. Spider webs, housekeeper obviously did not notice them, otherwise they would have been removed. Paying for towels is a condition of the booking. The owners rarely get asked for towels and will consider replacing. Owner was unaware and has asked cleaner to check on Saturday and remove the one you are referring to. Dishwasher tablets and rinse aid are always left. However, on this occasion no washing up liquid was left but normally is. So apologies for that. We only have left in the past left 1 tea towel, hand towel and oven gloves in the kitchen. Do we need to leave more tea towels? Loo roll one full one gets left, plus what is left by previous guests if any. Again should we be leaving more? I am sorry they were disappointed with the cottage and please pass on my apologies. As you aware we do stay there as a family a few times a year so do spot and resolve any issues. I am glad they enjoyed the garden and generally had a great time.
