Description

Summary

We invite you into our spacious tropical beach villa, surrounded by a paradise garden with a marvellous ocean view swimming pool. Located at the quiet northern shingle beach of Bali, with beautiful coral in front, nearby the fishing village of Tejakula.

The Space

Description Villa and Facilities

Come and enjoy the sunrise from the veranda, the breathtaking sea view from the terrace, the big romantic colorful garden (25 are), snorkeling or swimming under palm trees in a big private pool (14 x 6 m.) with a terrace that you do not have to share with other guests. Usually there is a cooling sea breeze blowing around the house.

In the open-plan living room with high ceilings made from alang-alang (a kind of grass) or on the terrace you can enjoy your meal, prepared by our cook (highly recommended!) or by yourself. Instead of a restaurant our guests prefer a delicious dinner in a romantic setting at home...

Up to four people can sleep in the two bedrooms (air-conditioned), each with its own bathroom.

You may chill in our relax room (also air-conditioned) on the lounge sofas and enjoy a movie or view a series from our DVD collection; or watch the Dutch television channel BVN (Beste Van Nederland). You may also start reading some books out of our library about Balinese art and culture. Our cozy house (200 m²) is decorated with fine Balinese paintings and other art works.

Villa Cape Gulah (Jalan Kulkul Kumis 1) is situated on a slight bulge (cape) in the sea near the fishing village of Tejakula. Living there will feel more authentic and less secluded compared to a resort hotel. Experience the feeling of staying in Bali far away from the hustle and bustle of mass tourism!

When you enter the village Tejakula from the mainroad side of Singaraja, you first passes a bridge and after 200 meters there is a three-way crossing in front of supermarket Maimaret. Turn left to the smaller Jalan Kulkul Kumis (official name of this street is Jalan Dewi Durga) and after 1 kilometer you will find villa Cape Gulah at the end of the road on the leftside.

See for a video impression of the villa: Cape Gulah Tejakula Bali 2016 YouTube.

The villa is well suited for a long stay!

Staff and Services

During your stay our managers Dewi and Lusi will take care of all your needs (they live nearby and speak good English). Our regular staff also include a gardener and a nightwatch. And a lady that brings daily offerings at our two house temples!

Service includes daily cleaning and fresh linen every third day.

For an extra charge Lusi or one of her staff will prepare a delicious breakfast (about 5 euro per person), lunch or dinner (about 7,5 euro per person), obtain groceries for you, or organize other professional services like in-house massage.

We have an official guest-house licence (pondok wisata).

Recently we have a good working (free) Wi-Fi connection.

Extra Services

It takes 2,5 hours to get there from the south (where the airport is located) and 1,5 hours from Ubud. Our house manager Dewi can arrange airport transfer (45-50 euro) or other transfers and sightseeing tours, including trips to temples, waterfalls, rice terraces, markets, and Lake Batur. Dewi can also arrange car or motorbike rental if you prefer to drive yourself.

Fishermen are pleased to offer you their small fishing boat to enjoy the sunrise, with the chance of watching dolphins. Or maybe you want to book a scuba dive in the vicinity!

The price of these activities is regulated on the spot.

All in all, we may offer our guests a list of 17 tips and trips...

Neighborhood

You can visit the local market early in the morning and have a look in the centre of the village at the interesting historical public bath place. Or take a walk on the grey sandy beach with pebbles (you will walk easier with reef shoes!) to see the production of the famous sea salt of Tejakula.

If you are lucky, you will even witness in front of the house the end of an impressive traditional Balinese cremation ceremony.

Tejakula is also famous for its Wayang Wong (mask) dance. Our house manager Dewi is an excellent dancer and he will inform you when there is a traditional dance performance.

About Us

We, Rian and Frits, live alternately in Utrecht (the Netherlands) and Bali. We travelled a lot for many years in Indonesia and ten years ago we fell in love with the unspoiled north coast of Bali and build our spacious villa in Balinese style with traditional materials and equipped with all modern comforts. We were impressed by the friendly people still living in a traditional cultural-quality way and by the beautiful tropical landscape. We have now decided to offer other people the possibility of a wonderful holiday there. Come and enjoy the real Bali!
