“Great location”

Reviewed 30 Mar 2018

The location of the property is brilliant, close to some great take aways and restaurants. The house is huge, so really great for families getting together, lots of space and the kitchen is well stocked. I do have some negatives which are not really bad.. the electricity meter is a real pain, especially as we were working down there and finishing late , ensuring you have a pocket load of £1.00 coins is not priority.. and the house is cold , fortunately lots of spare quilts to load the beds up with... with some TLC the property would be amazing.... Jenny was lovely when I spoke to her as was the cleaner.. it is a great sized property... but take your thermals if were not having a heat wave ...

Owner's reply: Many thanks for your review, all your comments are greatly appreciated! We are in the process of arranging for central heating to be added to the house, but as it is a big house and it is pretty booked up for most of the year it is finding the time to fit the installation in ! This should help with the electricity meter as well! There are plug in radiators in each room which generally do a good job , and the more people there are in the house the warmer it feels, but I do understand your comments.Maybe come again next year when the next phase of works should be complete!

“A very large house 100yrds from the beach.”

Reviewed 1 Mar 2018

We were a group of 7 friends having a short weekend break away. The house was perfect in that we had a bedroom each with plenty of toilets and bathrooms to go around. The location in Teignmouth is great (100yrds from the beach or harbour) and a 5 minute walk into town. The house itself was perfectly good. Our only negative comment was the comfort of the beds (some were a little tired and may need updating). The rest of the facilities were absolutely fine. If we ever travel back there again then we probably would not look elsewhere as this house has it all. Communication with the owner was a snitch too.

Owner's reply: Many thanks for your review, your comments are much appreciated and new mattresses are on order ! We look forward to welcoming you again in the future.

“Close to river and sea”

Reviewed 31 Jul 2017

Great place to stay for large groups to stay, rooms good, plenty of plates etc. Perfect for the beach and river.

“Great location value and size”

Reviewed 9 Sep 2015

We all had a great time that is all ages from 3 years old to 89 years old. Situated well within walking distance for the town centre railway station harbour pubs and seafront. Sat outside the pub looking over the harbour on an evening was so nice and only 50 yards walk back to the house. The house was very comfortable and roomy to be able to have a big family meal together at the large table was great fun. Could not fault the house or location cant wait to go back.

“Central location, close to all the amenities”

Reviewed 6 Oct 2014

The house is ideal for a large group of friends due to the flexible sleeping options. Centrally located in the town with shops, restaurants and pubs close by, the location is ideal for those wanting to be able to walk to their chosen destination. This House is very good value for money

“Amazing location, huge rooms, great value, nothing flashbut ideal families.”

Reviewed 23 Jun 2014

We had 4 families staying together and we had plenty of space for us all. Rooms are really spacious with simple furnishing. Top floor though is like a sauna when it's sunny, no insulation, windows don't open much, could do with a fan or 2 up there, makes it difficult to sleep, especially for kids. Bring some dark sheets/towels to hang over curtains as they don't keep out much light, one room doesn't have any at all. Big kitchen, massive fridge. No dining room though, got a couple of benches to eat around, it works, but can be difficult with lots of kids. We ate out or took dinner outside (there's no garden, we used the river beach round the corner). We loved our stay there, would definitely go back. It's just 30 yards from the working docks which are a great place to hang out in the evening as everyone goes out for a drink as the sun goes down. The beach is 200 yards away, got a great playground next to it, and lifeguards to watch as you swim.
