Description

This is one of the most stunning areas to visit in the West of Scotland, if not in the whole of Scotland. All six properties have spectacular alpine views of Loch Etive, Ben Cruachan and surrounding mountains.

It is hard to pick which one of our properties has the best views, but this mobile home is situated in an elevated position and commands its own panoramic view of the loch and the mountains, the decking area and lounge look out on a simply stunning view it has to be seen to be believed. The shore of the loch, just over 1km away, can be accessed down the owners quiet private road.

There is an enclosed garden and pets are welcome, dogs must not be left unattended in the property at any time.

Accommodation consists of: living room with open plan sitting/dining/kitchen area; double bedded room; two twin rooms (one of which the beds can be moved together if wished); shower room; separate toilet. Decking with patio area extends round the mobile

Decking with patio area extends round the mobile home to a laundry room with room to dry wet clothes/shoes etc. Dehumidifier supplied. Heating is by gas fire in the lounge, double and one twin room have electric convection heaters, hot water by instant gas water heater. All fuel and electricity is included in the rental. There is no smoking in any of my properties.

We do have six properties to choose from; you have the choice of a cottage style apartment, 3 brand new luxury wooden cabins, 2 or 3 bedroom detached cottage or a mobile home. If you need to book more than one or fancy something different just click on "see more properties".

The Scotland region

This is one of the most stunning areas to visit in the West of Scotland, if not in the whole of Scotland. There is a seemingly endless list of things for you and your family to do in the area. Choosing Taynuilt will be one of the best decisions you make for your Scottish holiday of a lifetime. This whole area is of outstanding natural beauty. The wildlife is probably second to none, eagles, ospreys, otters, basking sharks and deer to name but a few. Not only that, your ways of accessing the wildlife and landscape are endless. Oban or as it is known "The Gateway to the Isles" is just 12 miles away, where you can catch a ferry to numerous locations. Hire kayaks or small boats to explore the coastline yourselves or go one of the many varied boat trips to see seals and puffins. Go walking in the hills, bag a Munro! If you want to do a more adventurous route or are just starting out, a qualified summer mountain guide (owner Ian Campbell) can be arranged for you. Or if you fancy doing something different from normal go diving, horse riding, climbing, archery, wind surfing, cycling, gliding, golfing or sailing. Almost every outdoor activity can be done in this area. Or just have a relaxing stroll round one of the many gardens open to the public. The area has many fine restaurants, tea rooms and pubs to enjoy our local produce in. Oban is rightly named the "Seafood Capital of Scotland".

This is the perfect area for kayaking and canoeing with Loch Etive on your doorstep and the River Awe just a mile away. For the hillwalker there are 4 Munro summits within 3 miles of the house. The high tops of Glen Coe are just 10 miles away up Loch Etive by boat or 1 hour by car, with the Mammores and Ben Nevis tops also an hour away. There are many mountain bike tracks in the area from easy forest trails to full day 30 mile routes not for the faint hearted. Bikes can be rented locally.

Taynuilt

Our properties are approximately a mile away from the centre of Taynuilt. Which is an easy walk or cycle away or a quick drive in the car.

Taynuilt itself offers you an excellently stocked village store, with a variety of top quality produce. There is also a Post Office, a butcher, tea room, hotel and hairdresser. There is really no reason to travel to Oban, for major supermarkets, as just about everything you need can be bought in the village. The nearest Petrol Station is just 2 miles away. In the village there is also a tennis court to hire, large football pitch, golf course and childrens play park all within a mile.

Any trip by foot, road, rail, water or air will offer you unbelievably spectacular views.

Getting around

Oban is a thriving small town, 12 miles west, with a extensive choice of shops, supermarkets, hotels and restaurants. It is the Gateway to the Isles so there is a large number of ferry routes to the islands to choose from as well as many small boat trips. Most people travel up by car but we do have visitors that come up by rail. We are just a mile from the railway station. We can most times be around to pick you up. A lot of our visitors choose to hire a car as the buses and trains although regular do not run as often as in a city! Cyclists have miles of quiet country road to explore, including a brand new cycle route from Oban to Fort William with large sections of free of motor traffic.
