Sixty acres (unrestricted walking) surround it and the farmhouse (Domesday Book site) is about 50' distant. Gravelled terrace to the front (table/chairs, barbecue) and 70' long unheated games barn (table tennis, darts, large trampoline); next to the games barn, an enclosed lawned area for your exclusive use.

Large fitted kitchen/dining room (dishwasher, microwave) with utility/boot room (washing machine, tumble drier, fridge-freezer, larder fridge) and shower-room (suite) to one end. Also on the ground floor, two bedrooms a sunny double (5' bed) with glazed door to terrace, and a room with two sets of 3' bunks; bathroom (suite plus hand-shower). Wrought iron spiral staircase (stairgates) from the kitchen/dining room up to 27' long living room with woodburner (logs provided), TV/DVD/video, piano, high beamed ceiling and French windows to balustrade with tranquil views; another bedroom with two double beds with wonderful ornate antique headboards and en suite bathroom (suite plus hand-shower); separate loo. Spring water. The Somerset region

Somerset: is dairy cows in lush water-meadows, huge rolling cornfields, immense views, dark chocolate ploughed fields, luxuriant cottage gardens, orchards and the hedgerows alive with songbirds. To the north, the limestone Mendip Hills, splendid for walking, containing caves and Cheddar Gorge; and beautiful Bath with its natural hot springs, a city enjoyed by Jane Austen, steeped in Roman and Georgian history and still very culturally alive - a World Heritage Site. In Somersets middle, the flatness of Sedgemoor (where Monmouth enticed the West Countrys farmers to be slaughtered for him) with cattle at sunset as in a classical painting, villages on low hills. Nearby are Glastonbury with its tor and legends (and festival) and Wells with its tremendous cathedral. To the south is the Hamstone country - beautiful rolling farmland where almost every cottage is of golden stone, and every few miles are magnificent houses/gardens open to the public; at Yeovilton, the excellent Fleet Air Arm Museum (Concorde). In the Vale of Taunton, between Exmoor, the Quantocks and the Blackdown Hills, is some of the richest farmland in England, wonderfully unspoilt and peaceful.

And to the north-west, the 40 square miles of the beautiful Quantock Hills stretching from Taunton (county town) to the Bristol Channel sea and big sandcastling beaches. Wooded, heather-topped, home to red deer and loved by Wordsworth and Coleridge. Superb walks/rides, tremendous views, deep romantic valleys, pretty villages. Along the Quantocks western foot chugs the steam railway from Bishops Lydeard to Minehead. Few beautiful-country areas are so rich in interesting and splendid man-made things to see.

Raddington: tiny hamlet (church) in the Brendon Hills, just south of the Exmoor National Park. Trout fishing at Clatworthy Reservoir, 2 miles, and fishing and watersports (sailing lessons) on Wimbleball Lake, 3 miles; nearest shops/facilities, Wiveliscombe (outdoor pool), 6 miles; pub, 2 miles; the sea (sand) at Minehead, 12 miles.
