5 star accommodation facility's were diabolical. No where to walk your dog club house a dive and they have the cheek to charge £25 to use it . The lodge was brilliant but on the wrong site. Would not recommended to anyone .

We booked this lodge at the last minute and couldn’t be more impressed if we had spent ages looking for it.As soon as you walk through the door it feels like home .The views across the lake are stunning and the whole feel of the lodge is amazing would definitely come here again .

“Great family/pet friendly garden”

Reviewed 16 Aug 2017

A warm welcome of afternoon tea was a nice touch.first impressions of the lodge were OK ,however we had bad weather for 2 days so stayed in a lot, which meant you see things in more detail. It was very dark due to fact was all pine floor, walls and ceilings. This not helped by dark curtains red voiles lots and old antique style furnishings .this meant needing lights on all day .had the feel of a winter style Christmas lodge (including some interior lights and decor) Far too many ornaments trinkets, over stocked cupboards.it had a feel that we were actually staying in someone's house only thing missing was their clothes. Only one wardrobe to use antique wardrobe scratched my hand a few times fiddling to open one side. Damp smell in ensuite ,just generally if I'm honest lacked the feel of being clean, floors and also cooking area all a certain at a certain sticky feel . The garden was beautiful and we enjoyed the lake view fortunately weather improved and we used it a lot. Was perfect for our dog and family . The owners were very helpful both before arrival and followed up twice while we were there, however didn't feel like any of our issues could be resolved immediately so didn't voice our opinion. We however paid a lot of money so feel I need to give an honest review . Some great touches sky, wifi, badminton and huge bonus 2 bikes to use along with absolutely lovely garden and lake view.

Owner's reply: Thank you for taking the time to review your stay at Grey Heron Lodge. I can only apologise that it didn't meet your expectations. It was always our intention to create a 'home away from home' feel and we wanted to fill the lodge with lots of beautiful, hand picked items as well as have a fully stocked kitchen so it catered for every occassion. The wardrobe is an antique and we have always loved its vintage feel! We do supply another clothes rail if anyone requires extra space. We are sorry that the lodge ultimately wasn't to your taste. Thank you for your kind words regarding the garden, view and extra touches and our sincerest apologies that you didn't love the lodge.

“An absolute quaint little Gem with a beautiful view to boot.”

We have stayed many times at the Lakes and having lets here ourselves that we're booked out we want to stay Easter weekend .So we booked this lodge 48 hrs before we arrived . Emma who was our contact was very helpful in accomadating us and letting us bring our 2 labs too. We wasn't disappointed. Such a cosy lodge and When I arrived there to my suprise there was a beautiful afternoon tea laid out for us all . Easter bunting and a box of chocolates too. Other lovely touches like all the kitchen utensils you could possibly think of were here, The shower in the ensuite even had I build in FM RADIO and lights. A great washing machine and a separate freeze in the utility cupboard, little toiletries like tooth brushes and soaps for you to use,and I loved the nautical feel bathroom. Full sky tv package, PS2 games console with games which my 2 teenagers loved and free WIFI in the lodge to use. The lodge is far enough away from the complex but not too far to walk to. Loved sitting in the garden watching the waterskis go passed too. Even on a windy day it's a sheltered spot. If your looking to chill with a glass of wine with the family including the dogs overlooking the lake, you really got to give this little gem of lodge a try. I'll definitely be recommending to friends and family and I'm hoping to come back later in the year Thank you so much Emma for letting us stay.

“Beautiful charming yet with every mod con”

Reviewed 4 Dec 2016

It was absolutely beautiful. the lodge is totally equipped to meet any and every need including those of a dog or a child. It is sumptuous and cosy and cute yet with modern facilities including a washing machine and an all singing and dancing shower with radio lights and seat in the en-suite and yet has all the charm of a cottage from an antique brass floor lamp and down to a beaded sugar bowl cover. The view over the lake is breath taking with many forms of outside seating and a barbeque plus an outside shed with table football and balls and bats. Om arrival there was tae coffee bottled water and an array of sandwiches and cakes. Both bedrooms have Tv as does the lounge and there is also a games console with current games. Open ALL the drawers and cupboards and see what you find! The owner clearly wants you to feel at home and is trusting you with all her thoughtfully selected furnishings and fittings. Go, enjoy and be blessed!
