“An absolute quaint little Gem with a beautiful view to boot.”

Reviewed 15 Apr 2017

We have stayed many times at the Lakes and having lets here ourselves that we're booked out we want to stay Easter weekend .So we booked this lodge 48 hrs before we arrived . Emma who was our contact was very helpful in accomadating us and letting us bring our 2 labs too. We wasn't disappointed. Such a cosy lodge and When I arrived there to my suprise there was a beautiful afternoon tea laid out for us all . Easter bunting and a box of chocolates too. Other lovely touches like all the kitchen utensils you could possibly think of were here, The shower in the ensuite even had I build in FM RADIO and lights. A great washing machine and a separate freeze in the utility cupboard, little toiletries like tooth brushes and soaps for you to use,and I loved the nautical feel bathroom. Full sky tv package, PS2 games console with games which my 2 teenagers loved and free WIFI in the lodge to use. The lodge is far enough away from the complex but not too far to walk to. Loved sitting in the garden watching the waterskis go passed too. Even on a windy day it's a sheltered spot. If your looking to chill with a glass of wine with the family including the dogs overlooking the lake, you really got to give this little gem of lodge a try. I'll definitely be recommending to friends and family and I'm hoping to come back later in the year Thank you so much Emma for letting us stay.

“Beautiful charming yet with every mod con”

Reviewed 4 Dec 2016

It was absolutely beautiful. the lodge is totally equipped to meet any and every need including those of a dog or a child. It is sumptuous and cosy and cute yet with modern facilities including a washing machine and an all singing and dancing shower with radio lights and seat in the en-suite and yet has all the charm of a cottage from an antique brass floor lamp and down to a beaded sugar bowl cover. The view over the lake is breath taking with many forms of outside seating and a barbeque plus an outside shed with table football and balls and bats. Om arrival there was tae coffee bottled water and an array of sandwiches and cakes. Both bedrooms have Tv as does the lounge and there is also a games console with current games. Open ALL the drawers and cupboards and see what you find! The owner clearly wants you to feel at home and is trusting you with all her thoughtfully selected furnishings and fittings. Go, enjoy and be blessed!

“Fantastic stay and the views are amazing!”

We stayed last weekend and what a fantastic time we all had. On arrival we were all greated with Afternoon Tea and such a lovely welcome. The lodge was everything and more. We found Dundee . We will certainly be booking again and have already recommended this lodge to our friends. Many Thanks Emma and Angie.

“Heavenly Hosts”

Reviewed 16 Sep 2016

What a fantastic find! Myself, my husband, our 5 year old grandson and our dog Henry thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Grey Heron :) You really have thought of everything and more and the lodge is so comfortable and cosy. We had a power cut very late at night but it was sorted out straight away by the lovely owners, nothing was too much trouble and they were absolutely brilliant when my husband was taken ill ( thank you so much ) Our grandson walked through the door, stripped off to his underpants and instantly made himself at home, he cried when he had to go home There really is something for everyone at Tattershall and Grey Heron lodge is an absolute must for bird watchers, I have never seen so many birds in one tree :) I would highly recommend this to anyone :)

“Great place for humans and dogs alike”

Reviewed 14 Jul 2016

This lodge is amazing and quirky, every room is a surprise. It is far enough away from the centre to be quiet but close enough to pop out for a meal or a drink. The outside is magnificent with the decking and lawn area facing onto the lake, fully enclosed for the dogs and not overlooked for privacy. our two boxer dogs loved it and were outside as much as possible. Inside is comfortable, homely and well appointed. The only improvements I could recommend is that the towels could be put out ready rather than us having to search for them, a waste bin in the kitchen and I am not fond of 2nd hand food and toiletries so anything left from the previous occupants could be thrown away.

“A must-stay!”

Reviewed 28 Mar 2016

Our first reaction on arrival at Grey Heron was 'wow!' We didn't know whether to explore the stylish interior or the lake-side view outside area first. We made plenty of use of the outdoor equipment, thoughtfully put together in store on the patio. We spent quite a while just standing at the bottom of the garden watching boats and wake-boarders go by on the lake - easily observed from inside the lodge too. The inside is high quality, comfortable and practical. There are so many surprises, truly home from home. I don't think we stopped smiling as we discovered more. The owners have a great attitude - surprise welcome gestures including afternoon tea, a box of chocolates on the master bed and a courtesy call from Angie to check we were happy. I appreciated the supportive but hands-off approach. A very good decision to stay at Grey Heron. Would definitely come again.

“A truly wonderful experience from beginning to end”

Reviewed 8 Jan 2016

I booked Grey Heron Lodge as a surprise birthday present for my partner. The lodge was everything we could possibly have wished for and much more. The Christmas decorations were still up and made the experience even more magical. On our arrival we found that our hosts had catered for our every needs and called us to make sure we had arrived safely and ask if we needed anything (what a lovely thing to do). The lodge was well equipped and the décor and furnishings were beautiful and very in keeping. I was particularly fascinated with the cuckoo clock and my partner loved watching the RAF jets landing and taking off from the base opposite. We really felt at home and were soon settled on the sofa in front of the fire watching a movie all cosy and warm whilst it was cold and rainy outside. We didn't use the main bathroom as the ensuite had the most fabulous shower that, not only spurts water from all directions it also plays music too. The bed was cosy and comfortable in a beautiful bedroom with a TV on the wall. We didn't go out to explore our surroundings as we were so content to stay in the lodge and celebrate my partners birthday by having a pyjama day relaxing and enjoying our temporary home. Received a message from the hosts checking we were OK and gave us directions to the local supermarket. We only stayed at the lodge for 2 nights and wish that it could have been longer. We hope to return again in the near future to enjoy more of Grey Heron Lodge and its beautiful surroundings. This really is a wonderful place and I cannot recommend it highly enough. 5*+

I booked Grey Heron Lodge after reading the amazing reviews on trip adviser, I traveled with my two young grandchildren, for a 4 nt break, Emma was thier to answer any question we had from the moment we booked, really assuring. We arrived at the lodge a little later then thought due to traffic, up on opening the door it was clear to see we had found a little gem, we moved threw the cabin taking in all this home from home offers, the owners have really gone to town to make sure thier guest receive the best holiday ever I cannot recommend grey heron lodge high enough and can only say let yourself be wowed and go ahead and book, the lodge is like a magical maze with qwerky touches everywhere, the lodge on the park is in prime location with amazingly views to die for, the garden is all private and fenced of , we had the most amazingly relaxing stay and our grandchildren loved it , if could rate this lodge higher I would. We are already re booking for the summer holidays.

“best log cabin ive stated in”

Reviewed 30 Dec 2015

location, large secure garden and views were all self explanatory. firstly may I point out that this property is a log cabin throughout and not a timber clad property which gives it that real authentic feel. the added little gems were the heavenly shower, comfortable beds with ample spare bedding, free wi fi with a great reception, full sky package, and after a 2 hour journey we were greeted with afternoon tea and cakes, thoughtfully prepared by the owner. the lodge was decorated beautifully in side and out with Christmas decorations and presents on the beds. many personal touches that gave it that home from home feel. was assured by the owner we could contact her any time for any reason during our stay. a great comfort to just know that. we wouldn't of received a better service from a 6 * hotel. we have travelled all over the world and this little wonder is almost on our door step. would recommend a 100 times over and we will definitely return.

“Recently discovered cosy lakeside lodge”

Reviewed 25 Nov 2015

Arrived in the dark, after a mysterious drive through the woods. We were overwhelmed by what greated us when we entered the front door. Words really do fail me when I say it was like walking into a fairytale. You can smell the wood when you walk into the hallway. All the rooms are tastfully decorted and beautifully lit to give a lovely homely feel. The quirky orniments have clearly been selected to give a little bit of humour, Derek greating us in the livingroom was a pleasure. The surprises only got better with the rise of the sun giving us the spectacular views of the beautiful landscaped gardens with the backdrop of the lake. The decking and other family friendly facilities were wonderful. This mini break was a spectacular find and will be a place which we intend on returning too soon. We read through the guest book with the numous entries not all of which have been added to trip advisor which is a real shame as this would show the countless numbers of people which are clearly thrilled with this unique little find.
