The Sicily region
Theatre of lights and winds, of epic battles and sublime architecture; the southernmost bridge to Africa; indulgent cradle for different civilizations, the island lies down the middle of the Mediterranean Sea like a matron waiting for guests coming from far-off countries.
The sun kisses the blazing sands and the low cliffs; the sky is tinged with strong colours, especially at sunset; the wind brings odours and sands from Africa.
The sandy, golden beaches dance with the bright, blue sea; silver olive trees mix togheter with palms and euphorbies; everything invites you to enjoy life and to get the most of nature.
Taormina is nicknamed "the pearl of Sicily"

"Character property, clean and in a super location"
Just returned from a 7 night stay in this property. It was my second visit to Taormina. We arrived late - see tip below! (due to having issues at the car hire establishment). After parking the car in parking Lumbi (40 euros for the week, walkable to the house or via the bus which takes you virtually to the door) Carlo's mother was patient and waited for us; then provided a quick and friendly tour of the three level house before leaving us to it for the week. Both Carlo and his mother were very nearby should we have needed anything more. The property was very clean and full of character, great views from the roof terrace (if your not scared of heights!). Great place to stay for four people in two doubles - both rooms would have their own shower and toilet and on different levels. Probably a squeeze for six but still possible. Not suitable for young children but excellent for couples / friends / older families. The only downside was not being able to cook with just two rings in a small space as Taormina is really expensive to eat out. I am used to this from my visits to apartments in Greece but in those days everything was cheaper! Ideal for making sandwiches for day trips and for days at the beach though. This house was so close to all the places you want to see in the town, a walk from the cable car, 30 mins stroll down to the wonderful Isobella cove, 5 mins from the Theatre Greco. Just brilliant! Despite being right in the centre it was really really quiet. There is no doubt in my mind that should I return a third time I would want to stay here again! Well done and thanks :-) **TIP** make sure the lead booking person has a credit card! It has to be the main drivers card. Also the car hire company will want 150 Euros for you to take their insurance (non refundable) on top of anything you have paid in the UK (I paid extra in the UK but this wasn't valid still!!) or they will block £1500 on your credit card which will be taken if there is damage to the vehicle! Not in the small print! I didn't have a card, my partner did but they wouldn't take it as the bookings was in my name.

The property is in such a great location, it's spitting distance from all the restaurants, cafes, bars and boutiques. The house is very homely and the balcony and roof top terrace were ideal for a glass of wine as the sun was setting. Carlo was very welcoming and treated us to a beautiful bottle of Sicilian wine. It was a very enjoyable stay!

"The real Sicily"
We were visiting Sicily for the first time to attend a family wedding in Taormina. We stayed 6 days. We chose this property for the location, independance and the authentic style of the property. The owner responded quickly to our email request and kept us informed about rental price etc. He was there to meet us on our arrival to show us around and gave us all the relevant information we would need. We were given his contact number if there were any problems during our stay. The welcome we received and the complimentary bottle of Sicilian wine was a lovely start Although the property is for 6 people, we think the facilities are better for 4 people. to our stay!
Grazie Mille !!!!! Ciao Carlo
