Southern Province region
Tangalle is the tourist hub of the Deep South and boasts of some of the finest beaches and beach resorts in Sri Lanka. Situated 122-miles (200-km) south of Colombo, 5-hours along either the Coast Highway via Galle or over the hills via Ratnapura, you can drive to Tangalle thru some beautiful country. Once you arrive, it is said that “dreamlike days could turn in to weeks!”
Access to the Rakawa lagoon and the Kalametiya wetlands are within half an hour from Tangalle. Bird watching, Turtle watching, and the sheer enjoyment of nature at its best, add to the beauty of this area.
Tangalla is also a popular destination in the deepsouth for its traditional and cultural history. Some say the name Tangalla is derived from the ran-gala or “golden rock” from a legend that tells of a time when a holy man once partook of a meal there and the rock was turned to gold. But others maintain that it is known as the “projecting rock” because many years ago the town was protected from the ocean by a long rocky slab that projected into the sea across the mouth of the bay.
One of Sri Lanka's largest Fishery Harbors is also located in Tangalle. Many coastal as well as multi-day (deep-sea) fishing vessels use this harbor. Every morning (except on full moon-”Poya days”) at daybreak, one can witness the crowded fish auction.
Local and foreign tourists can enjoy a good variety of food and lodging, and great “sea baths” as the locals would say. Swimming, snorkelling and diving off the coast are also very popular. In spite of its attractions, numerous seaside
hotels and guest houses, and quaint, local restaurants, Tangalle is still largely unknown to tourists. Discover Tangalle!
The District of Hambantota, which extends from Tangalle to Tissamaharama offers something special for everyone. Crystal clear seas, golden beaches, mysterious archeological sites, and a chance to see some of Sri Lanka's spectacular wildlife; Hambantota has it all. In spite of this, the District is one of Sri Lanka's best kept secrets.

We stayed with a large group of family and friends incl my 2 year old daughter. All of us had a great time. The villa is beautiful, spacious, nice bedrooms, great kitchen and best of all the outdoor terrace which looks out onto the garden and the beach. Only a few locals use the beach so it almost feels like your own private beach. Ran who manages the place is a great guy, very friendly and nothing is too much trouble. Everything is done with a smile on his face! His wife cooked for us daily. This was probably the best food we tasted in Sri Lanka - authentic home cooked meals. The villa is located amongst a small village but Tangalle is short Tuk Tuk drive away. Ran does this too. We all loved it. Highly recommendable - just book it now!

"Lovely house with fantastic crew!"
We were five adults and six children at age from 3-10 and we all really enjoyed our stay in beautiful villa Paradise Cove. We really liked the house and its sorroundings. It was nice staying next to locals and we had like our own nice beach. The housemanager and his wife took the best care of us, helped out with activities, drove us in tuctucs ans cooked us the most fantastic meals. If you want to take part of sri lanka away from tourists but have a comfortable vacation I really recommend this place.

"Dream holiday in paradise"
We fully enjoyed our stay at the Paradise cove. The villa is beautiful, clean, very comfortable and only steps away from a private beach. We woke up each day to a gorgeous sunrise over the ocean and went to sleep with the soothing sound of the crashing waves. The caretaker of the villa, Ran, took excellent care of us at all times. He and his wife cooked delicious local meals for us but we also cooked for ourselves whenever we felt like it in the fully-equipped kitchen. From the villa we could easily explore interesting sites in the local area including the ancient Mulkirigala Rock Temple. Most afternoons, we lounged in the beautiful veranda overlooking the ocean to read or to simply rest in our peaceful surroundings. This is an ideal place for relaxing but it is also perfect for gatherings with friends and family. We definitely plan to go back with a group of friends. Thank you for this unforgettable experience.

"Paradise on earth at Paradisecove"
I stayed one week at paradise (Paradisecove) After a long flight we arrived safely at the airport where a driver picked us up and took us to the villa. Katrin the owner of the villa welcomed us affectionately and showed us around. We took one room upstairs where we had a awesome view to the ocean. The interior of the villa is a combination of modern, old and local things. From the first moment I felt that only one week would be too short. The week in Paradise cove was a tough week for us. We were busy all day long. 7:30 Yoga class - breakfast (with delicious fruits) - surfing or trips - 17:30 Yoga class - dinner. But I am sure that you can book the villa also for only relaxing ;-P Every night we ate local food. It was soooooooooo delicious. I wished I could have taken the chef with me home. The surfing guy who took us to the beach was a local person. It was awesome!!! The waves were perfect for us. We surfed the second time and it was big fun. I also can recommend the trips we did. We visited two temple and went on a elephant safari. You probably can ask Katrin to get more information about it. If I think about anything I did not like. The only thing I could think of was the time of our staying. One week was too short. Nadine&Nicole

"wonderful place to be; beautiful simple modern architecture and interior design; a true "paradise cove""
a very beautiful place: wonderful designed simple modern architecture and interior design. where does this come from: i learned, that the owner is an architect. and she's obviously a very gifted one! you have your breakfast, lunch and dinner on the terrace with view on the wonderful beach just in front of the property. so it's like having your personal piece of the beach. the beds are big and very comfortable. i felt like a princess under the white mosquito net. also very well designed bathrooms with very nice bathroom fittings. it's realy like "paradise". we loved it and i guess, it wasn't my last stay there.
