Location description from owner

The Paphos District

Paphos is the top tourist destination in Cyprus and has been nominated European capital of Culture for 2017, mainly in recognition of it's extraordinary archeological sites. it is the only place in the world where you can see together Roman, Greek and Egyptian antiquities 'in-situ' on site and on display. If archeology doesn't excite you, enjoy walking or cycling in the beautiful Paphos Forest leading up to the foothills of the Trodos Mountains, or on the Amakas Peninsula, the largest National Park on the island, and home to a turtle nesting site on Lara Beach.
Villa Maliaka offers you a fantastic central base to explore Paphos and it's surroundings. A 45 minute 'drive radius' will deliver you to the north coast and Polis, whilst heading south it will take you to Aphrodite's Rock, Cape Aspro and beyond.

Tala

Tala village sits just 6km and about a 10 minute drive North West of Paphos. Villa Malaika is at the end of a very quiet cul-de-sac in the centre of the village, just a 5 minute walk from the old village centre and Tala Square, and a 10 minute walk from the lower shops and restaurants.
In the picturesque Square you will find cafe bars, a coupel of restaurants and a corner shop; just off the square is a Poat office and another small supermarket.
Walking a further five minutes down the hill, in the lower village you can find a pharmacy, bank & ATM, a 'very english' delicatessen, a very acceptable Italian restaurant and other facilities.
Tala sits about 3km inland in a stright line, and as the land rises it offers magnificent views of Coral bay and the Mediterranean beyond. It will take you just 10 minutes to drive down to the beaches of Coral Bay.
Above the village in comfortable walking range is the unusual monastery of Ayios Nyofytos, cut into the rock cliffs rising above.

“Comfortable Villa Set in Quiet Location With Lovely Lit Garden”

Reviewed 29 Oct 2015

This is a beautiful villa set in a quiet location just a short 10 minute walk from the square in Tala, which has several great places to eat. The villa was very comfortable and has reliable wi-fi which we’ve always found problematic at other villas we have stayed at. The kitchen is well equipped should you wish to dine in and there is also a large bbq in the garden. The garden looks fabulous at night with colourful lighting. We enjoyed sitting up on the upstairs balcony enjoying the views. It can get very hot on the balcony but the owners have thought about this and there is a fantastic awning which keeps the sun at bay. A fabulous place to just chill out and unwind with a good book and a glass of wine. The pool was warm and we enjoyed a few afternoon splashes. We took our elderly father who was happy there was a bedroom downstairs with a full sized bathroom so everything he could need was on ground floor level. This is a villa which would suit all ages and has all the facilities to keep everyone happy. I have no hesitation in recommending it.

“Well equipped, very clean and comfortable”

Reviewed 30 Aug 2015

A well-equipped , very clean , comfortable villa situated at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac. No noise from neighbours and not overlooked. Lovely to sit on the upstairs balcony in the evening with a glass of wine and watch the sun set. Good sized swimming pool - the slide is fun ! Nice grounds lit in the evening. Enjoyed using the BBQ but ate at several local eateries - recommend the village meze at Melitzia Taverna in Tala Square. Only a short drive to great beach at Coral Bay . Recommend Oniro by the sea restaurant for a cocktail and good modern food - just a short distance beyond . Definitely need a car although the local bus service to Paphos was cheap and reliable. If you're fit, there's a good walk from the villa up to Saint Neophytos monastery for a cup of coffee at the cafe under the trees. Is was handy having a welcome pack as we arrived late. Would definitely recommend.
