The Cove villa offers the experience of a quintessential peaceful beach holiday with the extras of fine dining, tennis onsite, world-class surfing, and memorable excursions off Bali's beaten tourist path.

Two-and-a-half hours drive from the airport along the West coast of Bali lies this hidden gem situated in a coconut grove, gently sloping towards a lovely beach which features a rare natural grotto.

The Cove is a 5 minutes drive away from Balian village with its bars and restaurants catering to the surfers and yoga communities.

This unique beachfront property comprises a main house with a living room, kitchen and dining area, and 4 bedrooms each with a sea view plus a terrace or deck. Towards the beach there is a separate guesthouse with a bedroom and sunset cabana offering spectacular views, a 13 m stone infinity pool overlooking the waves and a sundowner bar. Amidst the landscaped gardens is a grass tennis court. The facilities are ideal for up to 10 adults plus 3 children as 2 of the 5 bedrooms have extra beds.

The Cove is fully catered and it is managed by an experienced staff which includes the manager, the head chef, housekeepers, gardeners, onsite facilities manager, and nighttime security. Upon separate arrangement, drivers and vehicles, babysitters, tennis pro, masseuses, yoga instructor, surf instructor and local guides are available.

The property is big enough so guests feel they have enough personal space, even when the house is full. Whether it is relaxing in your own terrace or deck, taking a swim in the infinity pool, walking through the coconut grove, watching the waves from the cabana, playing a tennis match barefoot on the grass court, lounging in the living room or enjoying a massage--there is always a place to go where it will feel like nobody else is around.

The staff, entirely from the area of Tabanan, is very kind and personable and the chef cooks delicious, fresh and gourmet food every day, sourcing all ingredients locally. It is a pleasure to discuss the next day's meals with the chef, and sitting down at lunch and dinner is always a lovely experience. Guests can choose whether to try delicious local specialties, or a European menu. Fresh fish, salads, soups, fruit, vegetables and healthy grains feature prominently and breads are baked daily. Vegetarian and gluten-free meals can easily be arranged.

The stunning sunsets and beachfront deck, plus the unique natural grotto on the beach provide a beautiful setting for weddings and special events. Catering for such events can be arranged in-house, or by choosing a favorite restaurant.

The villa is in complete harmony with its natural surroundings, as it is constructed from reclaimed ironwood, teak, stone and other locally-sourced materials. Values are sustainability, service excellence, quality facilities, fairness of price.

Getting around

At The Cove, we will have a car and driver at your disposal. The car seats 7, plus the driver. The use of the car is fee for small trips to the nearby village, restaurants, yoga studios or local stores. Think of it as a free shuttle! For longer trips, rates are as follows: -Half day (up to 4 hours) 25 dollars, including driver and petrol. -Ful day (up to 8 hours) 40 dollars, including driver and petrol. Additional cars with drivers are available at similar prices.

Interaction with guest

On arrival at Bali airport, you will be greeted by our friendly drivers, who will take you to the villa. On site, our staff of 10 will take care of everything for you so that you don't have to lift a finger. The staff will also help with excursions, booking massages and activities, and will be around for any special requirements you may have: Balinese dances, ceremonies, rice field walks, renting of surfboards etc.
