The kitchen has cutlery, crockery and cooking utensils, whilst an iron is also available along with a table top ironing board. There is a tv/dvd in the lounge area with a selection of dvds. The caravan has a private garden area with chairs, tables and an umbrella for those really hot summer days! Unfortunately we do not accept pets.

THE PARK is ideal for couples requiring a peaceful break but is also suitable for families, with plenty of activities on the park and in the surrounding area. It offers a number of facilities including a heated outdoor swimming pool (open from late May until early September), two coarse fishing lakes, all weather bowls, a tennis court, a 9 hole pitch and putt, crazy golf, and children's play areas. The Lakeside Clubhouse has bars and a restaurant serving home-made dishes at reasonable prices, and also provides entertainment including live music and bingo (adult visitors passes are required for use of the swimming pool and entertainment).

PLEASE NOTE: The park requires adult passes to use facilities such as the swimming pool, fishing lake and entertainment in the Lakeside bar, although accompanied children are free up to the age of 13. These passes can be obtained for you (for an extra charge) beforehand. If required please inform the owner at least a week before so we can arrange for them to be issued. The park includes a shop (open every day), selling groceries and frozen food, fresh rolls and newspapers, a launderette, hairdresser and a café serving breakfast, light lunches, drinks and snacks. Adjacent to the park is the former Overstone Manor House which is now a public house overlooking the park, offering various meals including a carvery. A car is recommended, but there is a bus service (X38) which stops at the park and goes to both Northampton and Kettering.

OTHER PLACES TO EAT There are a number of other places to eat and drink close to the park, including The World's End pub at Ecton (approx 3/4 mile) and The Horseshoe at Sywell. The Aviator at Sywell Aerodrome has an art deco style hotel, bar and restaurant, while Riverside Park shopping centre has various restaurants/takeaways such as Harvester, MacDonalds, Frankie & Benny's, Costa and Subway.

LOCAL ATTRACTIONSSywell Aerodrome has free entry throughout the year, so you can park and watch the planes departing and arriving, plus (if you are lucky) you might catch the Blades aerial display team practising. The aerodrome has a small museum which opens mostly at weekends, and there are shows throughout the year. It is also possible to book flying lessons.

HISTORICAL SITES/HOUSESNorthamptonshire has a rich history, as the number of historic houses and sites in the area indicates. These include Althorp House, Castle Ashby, Boughton House, Rockingham Castle, the Triangular Lodge, Lyveden New Bield, plus halls at Kirkby, Lampton, Kelmarsh and Deene Park. The park also puts on various events throughout the year (see park notice boards for information). The Evening Telegraph (published on Thursdays) is available from newsagents and supermarkets and includes a comprehensive 'what's on' guide.

SHOPPING The on-site supermarket aside, Earls Barton village (approx 3.5miles) has some quaint and interesting shops plus a Co-Op supermarket for extra supplies. Beckworth Emporium is a garden centre, but also sells a good range of fresh and frozen food plus confectionery and gifts. There are also garden centres at Burton Latimer, near Kettering (Bosworth's and Seasons). A similar distance in the other direction is Weston Favell Shopping Centre, which has a good range of shops, while Riverside Park has a number of major outlets including Next, Boots and Homebase.

Location description from owner

The England region

Northamptonshire is a semi-rural county in the south of the East Midlands adjoining Leicestershire in the North, Oxfordshire in the South, Cambridgeshire in the East and Warwickshire in the West.
Northampton is less than 70 miles from the centre of London and fewer than 55 miles from Birmingham. It also allows easy travel to all parts, with the M1, M6 motorways, plus the A14 and A1 all within 30 mins by car.

Sywell

The Northamptonshire area is steeped in history and has key sites related to historical events such as the Norman Conquest, the English Civil War and the Gunpowder plot.
There are many pretty villages in the area and historic houses to visit, but the road links are good and it is a good base for visiting places such as Silverstone, Milton Keynes, Bedford, Leicester and Peterborough.
