My cottage is perched at the top of a mountain, with a sunset view of the Smoky Mountains. It is ideal for a romantic getaway or for the solo adventure traveler. Decorated in a farmhouse vintage style, the cottage is cozy, quaint, and meticulously clean. Crisp linens and fluffy pillows accent the queen size bed. An efficiency kitchen with seating for two includes a microwave, blender, toaster, and electric burner plate for cooking. A coffee bar is complete with Keurig coffeemaker, coffee pods, creamer, and sweetener options. Free Wi-Fi and satellite TV.

A full bath is luxuriously appointed with tile shower, glass shower doors, bath amenities and a washer/dryer.

Nearby towns include Dillsboro and Sylva (10 minutes), Western Carolina University (20 minutes), Franklin (20 minutes), Bryson City and Cherokee (25 minutes), and Waynesville (25 minutes). The entrance to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park is just 30 minutes away. Within a one hour drive are the towns of Highlands and Cashiers, as well as Asheville, North Carolina.

Outdoor adventure options are plentiful, including hiking, waterfalls, scenic drives, shopping, dining, and craft breweries, trout streams, Nantahala River for whitewater adventure, paddleboarding, lake kayaking on Lake Glenville or Lake Fontana, the Tuckasegee River for rafting, tubing, and fishig, Deep Creek Recreation area for tubing and hiking, Whiteside Mountain, Panthertown Valley, biking trails, the Appalachian Trail, Clingmans Dome, Mingus Mill, and many cultural and historical attractions. We provide our guests with plenty of visitor information and directions to help you find the best adventures based on your interests.

A wide open deck overlooks the Smoky Mountains, and includes Adirondack chairs, a patio table with two chairs, and a barbecue gas grill. Spend a quiet evening under the stars at the firepit. A hammock and covered front porch with two rocking chairs complete the quiet outdoor setting.

All linens are provided, including bed linens, bath towels, and kitchen towels. We recommend that you bring or purchase consumable supplies - paper towels, toilet paper, soap, laundry detergent, and toiletries - if you'll be staying longer than a couple of nights. There will be a “starter amount” of these when you arrive. We have a wood-burning fire pit, and you will need to supply the wood. We supply dish washing liquid, trash bags, and hand soap. If you will be enjoying a water activity like tubing or white water rafting, we recommend bringing beach towels. We also recommend that you bring insect repellent, especially during the warmer months.

Maggie's Cottage is a guesthouse of the owner's home, which is in view of the cottage. Please refer to photos for proximity. We provide our guests with privacy, however we are close enough if our guests have any questions.

It's the perfect place to relax, unwind, and reconnect.

Getting around

No public transportation and no Uber. Road is single-lane, paved, and easy access to cottage. Cars travel both ways on same single lane road, which is very common in this area. The neighborhood only consists of a few homes so it is unlikely that you will meet another vehicle going in the opposite direction. If you do, neighbors tend to back up to the nearest driveway and acquiesce to the vehicle traveling down the mountain. Only one parking space available, however contact the host in advance if you'll have 2 vehicles and we will do our best to accommodate.
