Description

Steam Railway Cottage is a two storey detached cottage which is adjacent to The Swanage Steam Railway in the heart of the town. It is ideally situated just 500 yards from the town centre and beach. It can accommodate up to 4 adults and 2 children plus a baby and comprises of 3 bedrooms, the main has a king size double bed with an en suite which has a walk in shower, the second bedroom also has a double bed and is adjacent to the family bathroom and the third bedroom has bunk beds. All bedrooms have wardrobes and drawer units for storage. The family bathroom has a bath with a shower over. There is another toilet on the ground floor. The kitchen has built in appliances including oven and gas hob, washing machine, fridge/freezer and a dishwasher. There is also a microwave, kettle and toaster. As you enter the cottage there is a dining area with table and six chairs. The lounge has french doors leading to the courtyard, there is a modern leather suite, a 40" LED Smart TV with freeview, iplayer etc. a DVD player with a selection of DVD's. Also there is a hi-fi system with Ipod docking station plus free Wifi.

There is a sunny courtyard garden with chairs and table. The cottage has it's own integral garage for parking and there is space in front of the garage for additional parking – parking space is at a premium in Swanage!

The house is double glazed throughout and has gas central heating.

The house is ideal for families, walkers, cyclists, steam enthusiasts, children who love steam trains and not forgetting the lovely sandy beaches!

The cottage is 50 yards from the steam train engine shed which has an observation area where you can sit and watch the trains. The station is just a short stroll away.

“Perfect house in perfect location”

We were really pleased with the house. It was spotlessly clean, well furnished and kitchen well equipped as well as having sunny, sheltered courtyard. Very close to shops and beach but in a quiet spot. Would love to live there. We enjoyed seeing and hearing the trains too. It was a nice surprise to find that we had arrived for the Folk Festival so lots going on. Swanage is a lovely resort, quite compact, with nice beach and coastal views. Left the car in the garage all week and used local buses which were frequent and covered a wide area, including Durdle Door and Lulworth Cove, our favourite trip. Would thoroughly recommend this house and would stay there again.

A very nice, well equipped cottage located next to the Swanage heritage railway. Just a short walk to the station and in a quiet location that is very close to Swanage town centre and the beach etc. The property is well equipped in all areas, the furnishings are in very nice condition, the kitchen has plenty of equipment all of which clean and tidy, as is the whole property. We will certainly visit Steam Railway Cottage again.

We arrived in a freezing Saturday in February and the cottage was warm and cosy. Very clean and tidy and extremely well equipped. The house is an easy walk from the town with the co op just round the corner. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this cottage and the owners were very helpful. We'll be back.

The house was superb - all facilities that you would need were available. Location was perfect - walkable distance to beach and shops. A great place to stay with young children too!

This was a very comfortable house with all of the facilities that you would want in a home from home. The owners left some milk in the fridge and other items, which was handy. They were friendly in our contact with them and returned our security deposit very promptly. As there were just the two of us we had plenty of room to spread out. We just used the en suite bathroom attached to our bedroom but there was also a nice family bathroom and downstairs toilet. The weather was quite cold while we were there but the house was well insulated and kept us warm. A nice feature was a garage to leave the car in for security. The house was within easy walking distance of the seafront and town centre.

A nicely kept property with excellent facilities. Close to the town centre and handy for local attractions, particularly handy for the steam railway, it is also within walking distance of the local supermarket and local public transport. The owners were polite, helpful and friendly

Well furnished and comfortable house in favourable location close to town. Clean throughout and only minor criticism is that it would have been appreciated if some small welcoming parcel ie Tea and biscuits were provided

The cottage was brilliant, the images on the website are very accurate. Very spacious, decorated and furnished to a high standard. Great location, easy to get to the beach and into town. The Steam trains go past the house which was really exciting for the children. Good base for exploring Dorset, would recommend for a stress free family holiday.
