Location description from owner

The East Anglia region

This quiet area of Norfolk known as the Brecks has a rich diversity of flora and fauna and is one of the most important wildlife areas in Britain. It is also one of the driest areas in the country with large, often blue, skies whilst the dark night skies are ideal for stargazing and listening to the calls of deer, foxes and owls hooting.

The twisted pines are a distinctive feature of the landscape together with the local flint used in the building of houses and churches. Flint has been mined in this region since Neolithic times until the 1970s and the old flint workings at Grimes Graves are open to the public.

With an area spanning 370sq.miles/940sq.kilometres across Norfolk and Suffolk this region has something for everyone and is also ideal for exploring Cambridgeshire and the Fens.

Swaffham

The market town of Swaffham with its famous Saturday Market and Auction, plus 18 hole Golf Course, is only 6 miles away. The National Trust property Oxburgh Hall is situated in the village of Oxborough and Gooderstone Water Gardens are 3 miles from the farm. Thetford Forest and the quiet country lanes are ideal for walking or cycling. Coarse fishing is available on the farm in the River Wissey and there are several stocked lakes a few miles away.
Enjoy wildlife and bird watching on the farm or visit the reserves at Titchwell, Cley or Blakeney.
Cambridge, Ely Cathedral , Norwich, Sandringham House, Kings Lynn and the unspoilt North Norfolk coast are within easy reach. For the more energetic try Go Ape in the forest.
After a day of walking or sight seeing enjoy a swim, a sauna or a massage with the owner a qualified Aromatherapist.

“Gorgeous location”

Reviewed 30 Aug 2016

We had a lovely stay bank holiday weekend. Nothing was too much trouble for the owner, even making sure there was milk and butter waiting for us in the fridge! The pool is lovely and the farm itself is very picturesque. There was plenty to do and see in the local towns

Thank your for your kind comments. I like people to enjoy their stay on the farm. Margaret Wilson
