“Fantastic Villa”

Reviewed 28 Jun 2017

Where do I start.... just spent two weeks in this lovely villa with family and friends. The villa is well equipped with everything you could wish for. Lovely areas around the villa, the back of the villa is lovely for breakfast in the shade with a further area for lunch which is in the shade all day. The garden is amazing with lovely smells all day from the abundance of plants and flowers in the garden. We found some lovely restaurants in Sutri itself. Visited Rome for the day, drove to Saxa Ruba and jumped on the train into centre of Rome. Trevignano Romano and Bracciano itself are well worth a visit. View of the lake from Bracciano Castle is amazing. We were met by Lucia who spoke excellent English, Cveta did a great job looking after the pool and plants. We have stayed in many villas over the years but none as lovely as this. As owners go Zoe is the best and most helpful of all we have ever encountered. We only had a few little blips but her response was immediate. Even down to booking a few restaurants for us which she recommended. Well done Zoe your help was really appreciated.

“Luxury villa in panaramic setting”

Reviewed 6 Jul 2015

High level of accommodation with virtually everything one needs - especially the pool when the weather is hot. BBQ and al fresco dining -- wonderful. Good central location for touring to the various places of interest and Sutri itself was a delightful little 'city' with an absolutely (surprisingly) beautiful cathedral. The owner provided lots of literature on places to visit, routes to take and eating out locations which can cut down on the time to find these -- and possibly disappointment. Before and during our holiday the owner was extremely helpful and concerned that all would be well and she was very efficient in replying to any correspondence. The garden and views were spectacular. The only downside was that the dogs in the area like to be heard but we have experienced this in other Med. countries and put it down to a cultural difference with Britain???

“Super Stay in Sutri”

Reviewed 10 Oct 2013

Before I start on the details I shall just summarise and say that we had a GREAT stay here. We found it to be an excellent base for the relaxation leg of our Italian break. Relaxation was indeed called for following our three days of intense sight-seeing in Rome. The directions to the villa were clear and straightforward and even though I was nervous about driving in Italy for the first time, the journey from the airport (where we picked up the car) to the villa was pretty straightforward. This villa is spacious and well designed and offers some great views of the countryside. Even though we were a party of eight (four adults, one teenager and three kids) everyone seemed to be able to find their own niche to relax and enjoy. There were numerous sheltered seating and relaxing areas for reading and chilling out and an excellent Wi-Fi service ensured that Facebook and Skype was on-tap for keeping in touch with home. The kids loved the pool, the table tennis and their walks to the nearby village of Sutri that was a 20 min walk away. The town provided for most of our needs including historical sites, excellent restaurants, supermarkets and a water park that thrilled the kids and those of us who should know better! In Sutri I was quite happy to relax away with the Italians, sipping excellent morning coffee before gathering a few essential provisions (fresh fish, local fruit and vegetables and local wines on tap) for the evening cook. We made good use of the BBQ and kitchen that was very spacious so everyone seemed to be able to muck in and help. This ensured that that a fabulous meals was served under the portico. This provided a really wonderful atmosphere where we could share the day’s stories and adventures with one another – really important “family time”. We took the owners recommendation to visit Lake Bracciano that lies around 12Km South from the villa. Who needs a beach when you have this lake down the road with sunbeds, parasols and pedalos available at Trevignano Romano, a small town on the side of the lake. We found an excellent restaurant on the waterfront (providing free parking) and reasonably priced food and drinks. We visited the lake on several days, enjoying the market and the boat crossing to Anguillara Sabazia . Would really recommend this boat trip and visit to this village. You can also hop off at Bracciano castle where the rich and famous get married. In years to come, the girls will probably remember their attempt at a synchronized swimming routine in the villa pool, the boys the late night entertainment in the square in Sutri or the table football family clash in a Sutri. For me, it was a chance for both families to relax in each other’s company and take in the best that Italy has to offer.

“The Real Italy”

Reviewed 15 Aug 2013

Great communication from the owner who answered all my questions very quickly. Great directions from the airport, easy to follow. Loads of information in the Villa about, restaurants, transport, Rome, places to visit. House information very clear and useful. Everything you could need is in the Villa, feels like home. Plenty of space, lush bathrooms, beautiful garden, bbq, table tennis, DVD and a great film library a wonderful kidney shaped pool to cool off in. Views are breathtaking. Great location to travel to Rome by Bus, Train or Car. Two beautiful lakes near by, Lake Bracciano is the one where Tom Cruise married Katie Holmes and you can go inside for a tour, beautiful view of the whole lake from the top and the other is Lake Vico which has two wonderful restaurants owned by a generation of families. Lovely restaurants and markets near by the Villa, which are good value. Sutri has a wonderful Roman amphitheatre excavated in the tuff rock, well worth a visit. I can only say what I like best about this Villa and I have already booked to go again next year. This is truly a beautiful Villa and sometimes it's just nice to pour a glass of local wine and watch the sun go down. There is so much to see and if you want you can just sit back and do nothing. You won't be disappointed. Ciao!

“Lovely!!”

Reviewed 11 Apr 2013

We made our first trip to Italy to celebrate our 25th anniversary and chose Villa Lavanda as our "home base". The location is wonderful - close enough to Rome to easily visit for the day, but also convenient to Umbria, Tuscany, the beach and a few beautiful lakes. The home is perfect for relaxing after a day of sightseeing. We spent every evening in the beautiful garden enjoying the view with a glass of wine! Beds are comfy, kitchen is very well equipped, the home is spotless and the homeowner provides tons of information for guests. She answered every question and was incredibly helpful. We would love to return someday!

“Phatastischer Aufenthalt mit schönen Erinnerungen”

Reviewed 23 Mar 2013

“breath taking”

Reviewed 21 Mar 2013

Also Villa Lavanda and the area around Sutri are breath taking. The villa is warm, comfortable and it is a pleasure to be there, the garden and the view are stunning. Kitchen and bathrooms are convenient and very nice decorated; the house is fully equipped with all the facilities that you need. It is peaceful and quiet. If you want culture there is a lot to do in the Etruscan surroundings of Sutri. Traveling to Rome only takes half an hour, you can easily park at Trinita del Monte/Piazza di Spanga. We stayed there for two weeks, had a great time and we will certainly come back.
