“Lots of minor repairs needed”

I booked the holiday through villa renters which was a very easy to use site. I asked owner to arrange transfers which again went very well. Owner was waiting for us when we arrived at 4.00a.m to hand over the keys, but as soon as he left we heard a very loud beep every couple of minutes, on investigation we found it to be the smoke alarm in one of the bedrooms, it was something that we didn't really want to mess around with at the time of day and I'm sure that the owner must of heard it whilst waiting for us but must of just ignored it. After sorting that out we went to bed. Oh my how hard we're they, it was like sleeping on the floor, no give at all, also not enough pillows. Upon waking I went to find the agent to ask for some more pillows and to report that there were no hangers at all. Was told they would bring some over, still not there by late afternoon so went to ask again because we wanted to unpack. Was told it was to late and to come back the next day. I tried to cook the breakfast the next day, but failed as the gas went out. Went back to report this problem as well as asking for pillows and hangers. A bit later some pillows and hangers arrived. I showed them the gas and was told that it would be ok. A couple of hours later a few more hangers came and some more pillows. This was a total of 6 hangers for six people in a 4 bedroom villa lol. We found that all the toilet seats were wonkey, the chain never flushed in one of the bathrooms and the tiles were a bit mouldy. The sinks were hanging of the wall, the toilet flush button was hanging off. The bath/shower in another bathroom leaked, no outside pool lights at all, and many bulbs blown in villa. The dimmer switches were broken, you had to take the button off to turn them on and off e-mailed owner and he said he would look into it. He replaced the gas bottle and eventually sorted out the pool lights, well into our last week. Also we found the DVD was not connected, again e-mailed the owner and although he said he would sort it he never did and we did it ourselves. This could be a wonderful villa it anybody could be bothered to do the minor repairs instead of neglecting it. I know they were all minor but when you pay top dollar and are only there for a short time you would like a bit more help.

We have carefully read our guest’s review regarding our services and would like to explain the events from our point of view. Firstly, we are happy that our guest did not have any problem regarding booking process and the airport transfer. Choosing a reputable airport transfer company for our guests is very important to us so they have a stress free, comfortable and safe journey. Secondly it is not normally part of our duty to wait for our guests who arrive early hours in the morning. However we chose to welcome them regardless of time and meet them face to face so they would be more comfortable to approach or call if they need our help or assistance during their holiday. Our guest mentions about fire alarm that goes of every 2 minutes. Our colleague Evren was present to meet them at the villa that morning. He says that there was no problem with the fire alarm while he was in the villa and the bipping noise would probably appear due to flat battery. Unfortunately we do not know when the batteries go flat. Otherwise he would have fixed the problem immediately. We did not have any complaints regarding our beds being hard before. The beds are good quality and happy medium to satisfy most of our guests. Unfortunately it is not possible to supply the perfect bed to address everybody’s preference. As far as we understand that our guest received everything she requested however she could not have them immediately. We think that it would be unfair to expect a hotel- like service when staying in a private villa. Most of our villas are fully occupied during summer season and we are doing our best to provide a good service for all our guests in different locations. There are some situations that we do not have any control over such as flat batteries, ran out gas cylinders, blown off light bulbs. We ask our guest to inform us if they need anything and always happy to respond as quickly as possible. We are sorry that there was a chain of unfortunate events during our guest’s stay on these matters. It is not usual. Our villas are in good standards and carefully priced for what it is. However we have taken all this guest mentioned on board and will check through the villa for minor fixtures and fittings problems such as wonkey toilet seat and make sure that everything will be in good working order. Over all we are very sorry that our guest had no choice but to complain and also deeply disappointed that our efforts did not meet her expectations. However we do hope that she returns next year to have a lovely holiday in the sunshine and a beautiful location with a better service.
