“Immaculate cottage restoration beautifully furnished. Perfect for a romantic break”

Reviewed 17 Nov 2013

We stayed in Primrose Cottage 21st - 24th Nov 2013. The workmanship evident in the restored cottage is impressive as are the furnishings & décor. We couldn't resist using the wood burning stove even though the weather barely justified its use! The cottage is situated in Marnhull village with easy walking access to the village stores & butchers and within walking distance of two pubs. The road that passes the cottage door was quiet in the evening and we were never disturbed by traffic noise. The small rear garden would have been a lovely sun trap - we must return in a month where the sun shines! This is a cottage for both summer and winter visits. Owner Rachel was welcoming and helpful. Top marks

“Superb!!”

Reviewed 14 Oct 2013

Our stay at Primrose Cottage was fabulous. Rachel was terrific. She supplied a very nice fruit basket, also milk & eggs in the fridge. The renovations are brilliant! Cottage was comfortable & well appointed. Kitchen was fully supplied. Great general store round the corner. There was nothing we didn't like. We will definitely return.

“Adorable cottage in a very friendly village”

Reviewed 8 Oct 2013

From the minute you open the door to Primrose Cottage it gives you a warm friendly feeling. Everything is finished to a very high standard and nothing is overlooked. From the cosy lounge/diner with wood burner and window seat to the fully stocked kitchen and ground floor shower room. Upstairs the bedroom is very relaxing with wooden beams, luxury bedding and the most beautiful bath you can imagine. As stated in other reviews there are 2 good pubs, a butcher and village store all in walking distance from the cottage. There are walks from the door and lovely lanes to bike down. Further afield we visited National Trust properties and lovely beaches all within a 1 hour drive from the cottage. There is just too much to do and see in one week with Shaftesbury and Sherbourne also close by. Rachel and Pete have made an exceptional job of restoring this cottage and garden and continue to be attentive to their guests needs even bringing a smaller saddle for the bike as my feet wouldn't reach the ground. Nothing is too much trouble. We will definitely return to Primrose Cottage.

“Romantic little cottage with beautiful surroundings, would defiantly stay again without a doubt!”

Wow this cottage is amazing, we came here on our honeymoon for four nights and so glad we did, its the perfect romantic retreat! Newly refurbished to very high standards, you can not pick a fault with anything. Peaceful location in a friendly rural village, couple of nice pubs within walking distance, or borrow the bikes and go further a field, so much to explore or even just stay tucked up in cottage with the log burner on for a cosy night in with a dvd. This place really is idyllic and we'll definitely be returning! The owners are also super friendly too, nothing was too much trouble if we needed it and they even left us a lovely honeymoon welcome hamper as a special treat! We thoroughly recommend staying at this cottage, you will not be disappointed!
