The property boasts a large 9.5 x 5M private salt water swimming pool, with plentiful sunbeds, umbrellas, tables and chairs, plus of course a Cypriot barbecue for visitor's use. The large, well-kept, garden has fruit trees, figs, plums, peaches, tangerines, apples, dates, which visitors are welcome to help themselves to, and offers privacy with its surrounding hedges of cypress, pine and goldcrest trees.

As visitors say, it's home from home. You will find all sorts of things around that make it that way - light bulbs, shoe polish, screwdriver & random batteries in the cupboards, the odd bottle of booze and bits of food in the cupboard, cookery books, a multitude of paperbacks, games, music CD's, beach mats, cold box & freezer blocks, electric blankets for winter.

There are stand up fans available in each bedroom room for guests to use.

Whilst we do tell visitors there are glass patio doors, and various changes in level around the property, some people are still happy to bring small children. In this case, there is a travel cot available (though people usually like to bring their own cot bedding), a high chair and a car seat. There are also lots of pool/children's toys (which other people have left!)

Stroumbi has a taverna, supermarket, bank and coffee shop of it's own, and is only 15-20 minutes drive from Paphos or Polis with their multitude of shops, restaurants, banks & large supermarkets. Ideally situated for golfing, walking & horse-riding with easy access to the coast and beaches at Polis, Paphos, Coral Bay and the Akamas. Perfect choice for those seeking a high quality home in the open countryside. Past Polis is the fishing village of Latchi, with plenty of watersports activities available or boat trips around the unspoilt Akamas peninsular, not to mention many harbour-front fish tavernas.

At Kato Paphos harbour, around 30 mins drive, is the ancient Byzantine Fort and nearby beautiful Roman Mosaics and Museum. There is plenty to do and see for all ages, from wine tasting tours to mini-golf, and the information pack at the villa will give you guidance about all that is available. Or you might just chill by the pool with a good book and a drink in your hand!

Other Activities: Skiing in Winter, 2 hours drive -check snowfall first

Location description from owner

The Paphos District

Cyprus, the legendary birthplace of Aphrodite, is said to enjoy more than 300 days of sunshine each year. English is widely spoken and life is slow-paced. Food is fresh, the people are friendly, and in true Mediterranean style, love children, with the comfort of knowing that crime levels are lower than in most Western European countries. Ruins and monasteries abound as do beaches & sports, nightclubs, shops, pubs and restaurants.

Stroumbi

Paphos harbour and castle provide a central point for visiting the fascinating Roman mosaics. Close by are the famous ruins of the Tombs of the Kings and the Catacombs of St. Solomi. From Stroumbi, the roads provide easy access to Cedar Valley, the wine-tasting areas of Kathikas, over the Akamas and across to Peyia, Coral Bay and Lara Bay. Just as easy to reach by car are Polis & Latchi, Argaka and beyond past to Kato Pyrgos.

“Fantastic villa with everything you could possibly need.”

Reviewed 29 Sep 2014

This was our fifth visit to Villa Faros and we took new members of the family who were so impressed, they are going to book next year! We especially like the fact that three of the bedrooms have their own bathroom, which is always a good thing. We very rarely cook at the villa, but the facilities are there if you need them and there is an American style fridge/freezer, which comes in very handy for ice. We did not venture out so much this year, but stayed at the villa, swimming in the pool and sunbathing on the beds provided. Our Granddaughter really enjoyed all the inflatable toys in the pool and was quite happy swimming around and playing. The views from the patio are fantastic and we never tire of watching the Bee Eaters and Buzzards that fly very near the villa. There is a small supermarket at the top of the road now, but is stocks everything you need and we used this quite often. All in all a great holiday and I am sure we will be back next year!

“A fantastic stay...”

Reviewed 22 Aug 2014

Villa Faros is wonderful! The views from the patio, the space and facilities; fantastic! The kitchen and utility rooms are both well equipped with everything you might need for a family stay. With three spacious bedrooms, and 3 bathrooms, there is no need for argument. The local supermarket is metres up the road and the trip back to Paphos is straight forward. Local restaurants are really good - so you don't need to eat in! I can well understand why the visitor book is full of people returning time and time again. We hope to!

“Great views, lovely villa”

A lovely well equipped spacious villa set in a very private location. Nice sized well maintained pool. Hire car essential.

“Yet another relaxing holiday at Villa Faros”

Reviewed 17 Sep 2012

This is the third time we have been to this Villa in the last 5 years. Each time we have been we have found it to be really relaxing, with great views, & very private without being overlooked. The Villa is great value with all the facilities you would require whilst on holiday. I am sure this will not be our last visit to such a lovely Villa.

“The best Villa anywhere”

Reviewed 6 Oct 2011

This was our fourth visit to Villa Faros. It is fantastic. There are four bedrooms and three bathrooms, a huge lounge, kitchen and, of course, a pool. Everything is provided that you could ever need. A car is essential as it is in a secluded spot that overlooks and valley and the sea. If we eat out we use Yiannis in Kathikas and we went to St. Barbara's along the coast from Polis this time. If you want a holiday in Cyprus but without the crowds and noisy bars, this is the place. We cannot rate it highly enough and it shows as we keep going back!
