Description from owner

Description

Attractively situated on the outskirts of the little west coast village of Strontian, at the gateway to Ardnamurchan, this comfortable and well-equipped property gives couples and families easy access to the rest of this fascinating peninsula.

Cedar Cottage is set in half an acre of secluded garden, yet has all the advantages of a nearby village community with a choice of hotels and cafes, a tourist information centre, well stocked shops, sports facilities, a library and many organised events. For those with a boat or a canoe there is a slipway and free launching nearby with the whole of Loch Sunart to explore ...and more! The peace and quiet and the lovely views from the property and its conservatory make a perfect setting for a restful break in a beautiful area.

The deep pond (which is not fenced off) at the top of the garden means that it is not suitable for young children and toddlers, although there is an enclosed area at the front of the property.

Cedar cottage was very nicely furnished, with everything you could possibly need. Once the heating was on the cottage warmed up nicely, however, it would have been nicer to arrive at a warm cottage on such a cold day. All in all we had a very nice stay and would happily book the cottage again.

“Brilliant very pet friendly”

Location was fabulous. Owners accommodated for dogs perfectly-will certainly recommend the property to others. Hopefully we will get a chance to visit again!

“Comfortable cosy cottage”

Situated In a lovely part of the country. Cottage had all mod cons. Plenty of places to visit and to eat.

“Lovely cottage in a beautiful area”

Reviewed 20 Jul 2016

A lovely, well-equipped and maintained cottage in a quiet location. In the cottage there is everything holidaymakers could need, including dishwasher, washing machine, tumble-dryer and deep-freeze. Very comfortable accommodation. Located near to the village where there is a store, cafe, and hotel/restaurant.

“Wish we could have stayed longer”

Had a lovely 4 night break at Cedar Lodge. Everything you need has been provided for. Very comfortable acomodation and in such a picturesque area, you will feel happy with your choice. Stontian is a lovely village, lochside is just down the road and lots to see and do on your days out. Fantastic scenery and perfect dog walking. You wont be disappointed.

“Great Place for a break and wild walks. House well cared for and homely. Solar panels reflect a responsible approach too”

Owners were on call with any questions which was great when looking for a particular switch. The place felt very homely and well cared for. We are grateful for having had a nice break there for a week. Adi and Family
