"Stunning home, stunning views"
This lovely home that was entrusted to us by Andrea and her family was absolutely stunning. Every last attention to detail is made to ensure you truly experience a home away from home holiday. The house is cleaned impeccably, lovely welcoming treats are awaiting you on arrival so you don't have to rush to the grocery store for milk and snacks. The furniture and style of furnishings are modern and clean with a lovely touch of beach and french chic scattered through out. All of the bedrooms are ample size with the front two having gorgeous views of the sea. The village of Strete is a real gem. Perfect location where no one is a stranger. Everyone is welcoming and very pleased to have you as their guest. The store/post office across the road is great for snacks and staple items--as well as any questions you may have around the area. We had great walks, great meals-- taking use of the wide selection of recommendations provided by Andrea, and some relaxing down time as well. I can not recommend this holiday rental more. We look very forward to a return visit.

"Beautifully restored house in great location"
My husband and I stayed at this property at the end of September, with his parents and sister. We were very impressed with the house, well restored with some nice touches and everything you would need. We arrived to a table laid with scones, jam and fresh clotted cream which was very welcoming. It is in a quiet village called Strete which is well positioned for exploring the coast and nearby towns, Dartmouth, Kingsbridge and Totnes, all worth a visit. Unfortunately it rained quite a lot when we were there but we still found plenty to do. We had a meal at the local restaurant 'The Laughing Monk' which was good and the pub opposite was handy for a drink. There were 5 of us and plenty of room. The main room was a nice size double, there is one twin room and the 3rd has a small double (could be a little tight if you are 3 couples). The parking is just down the road so it's best to unload the car outside the house and then park up.

"Beautiful home and great location"
Walpole House was such a lovely home, simply but beautifully decorated, with everything we needed. There was useful information, the community shop was opposite the house, pub a few doors down and it was a 5 minute drive to a couple of beaches. Just wished we could have stayed longer to explore more of the area!
