“Excellent property in a lovely location”

Reviewed 6 May 2017

Great property in a fabulous location. I also had the pleasure of meeting John the owner. Very happy with everything. Exceptional value

“Beautiful property with a stunning backdrop, a real home from home.”

Reviewed 31 Jul 2016

Well equipped stunning property, well thought out with lovely personal touches that make this a real home from home. Beautifully designed yet cosy all at the same time. John and Glenise the owners are lovely, really friendly and helpful. Nicely situated to travel to lots of Scotland's attractions, set in a beautiful valley. Lots to do for all interests, we did the tourist attractions, walking, cycling, my partner even climbed Ben Shein behind Glenvarloch. There is just so many lovely places to visit and things to do. We loved staying here and would love to return again in the future.

“Beautiful, spacious, well equipped holiday home”

Reviewed 29 Dec 2015

We booked Glenvarloch for Christmas 2015. We were not disappointed with this well equipped, spacious house. We were two families of four, with children between 7 and 13 years of age. Plus a dog. The setting was perfect, the house large enough for us all to enjoy each others company, but still have the privacy to have quiet time when needed. The Kitchen is well equipped, we cooked our Christmas Lunch with ease. The American style fridge was prefect for storing everything we needed for the Christmas period! The owners left a welcome pack, which was much appreicated, plus decorated a Christmas tree. Finishing touches like this make for a most memorable experience. We would highly recommend staying a Glenvarloch. A wonderful holiday home!

Owner's reply: So glad you all had a ball over Christmas at Glenvarloch ! A home from home in the Highlands of Scotland ! Best wishes, J&G

“Wish it was my house!”

Reviewed 19 Oct 2015

Stayed here with my husband and 2 children for 2 nights then my brother and parents joined us for the last 2 nights. The house was probably a bit big for the 4 of us but perfect for our larger party. The house is so well equipped, fantastic appliances, plenty of plates and glasses etc and lots of utensils. Only thing missing was a hairdryer. We loved the underfloor heating - as did the cat who rarely moved from the tiled floor in the kitchen! The en suite for the master bedroom was fantastic and all the rooms were beautifully furnished. Very handy for the cycle path. Gorgeous scenery all around. Highly recommend this property. We all had a lovely holiday and would definitely love to come back.

Owner's reply: Hi Kathleen ~ many thanks for your great comments and we are really pleased that you enjoyed your stay ! We have not provided a hairdryer as some friends almost burnt their house down with one of the powerful modern models ! So it is not included in the extensive inventory. Besides who needs a hair dryer when you're staying in the highlands of Scotland ? ! A wee walk on the wild side and a good breeze . . . . . Thanks for leaving the house in good order. Best wishes, John & Glenise

“Glenvarloch- Fantastic.”

Reviewed 4 Oct 2015

6 adults & 2 dogs stayed at Glenvarloch in September. This is a big house with plenty of space for all., comfortably coped with outer group & still felt very spacious. The owners were great, very quick to respond to any emails or phone calls. They have also thought of everything that you will need. There are information packs of the local area & about items in the house. We pretty much stayed local & walked with the dogs. Lots of equip available to guests...all mod cons. The house itself is set right on the edge of Strathyre with a large garden, almost directly opposite The Inn, with good food available & a few drinks in the evening if it takes your fancy. The house & the village are set in beautiful surroundings, hills on every side a really stunning setting in my opinion. We all loved the house & holiday,, highly recommended. Oh & the price was fantastic when you see what you are getting for your money

Owner's reply: Many thanks for your comments. So glad your group appreciated the location and space that Glenvarloch provides. Best wishes, Glenise & John

“Beautiful, well equipped cottage.”

Reviewed 3 Sep 2015

Stayed here with 4 adults and 2 children 5 and under. Extremely comfortable and had everything we needed - including space for the grandparents to escape for 5 mins peace! Made good use of the locals walks and enjoyed all the wildlife. The washer & dryer was a godsend with the weather and 2 young kids. I would highly recommend to anyone and hope to return soon

Owner's reply: Glad you all enjoyed your stay at Glenvarloch Liz ! Many thanks for taking the time to post a review. Glad to have you back anytime. Best wishes J&G

“Excellent”

Reviewed 9 Aug 2015

Really enjoyed our stay at Glenvarloch. Very clean, well equiped but managed to feel homely as well. Pub across the road was welcoming. Very quickly on to the cycle paths as well.

Owner's reply: Many thanks for your comments ! We are glad you enjoyed your stay. Best wishes, J&G

“Beautiful Holiday Home”

Reviewed 3 Aug 2015

Our stay in this beautiful holiday home was enjoyed by all including our two bearded collies, who enjoyed the walks straight from the front door. A well equipped cottage, with everything you need and more, there was also a nice bottle of red wine left for us upon our arrival, this was very much appreciated after our six hour journey, thank you. Lovely meal at the Riverside Inn in Calendar about nine miles away and they welcome dogs which is a bonus when the weather is bad. The housekeeper was very friendly and checked to see if we required any further assistance. The only problem we had is that we all had to return home and leave this beautiful cottage. Thank you so much again.

Owner's reply: We are so glad that you enjoyed your stay & many thanks for your comments. Excellent local cuisine can also be had at Mhor84 in nearby Balquhidder or Creagan House a short walk from Glenvarloch. We take the responsibility of enabling guests holiday's seriously and appreciate that you left the house in excellent order. Best wishes, J&G

“Lovely spaceous house”

Reviewed 22 Jun 2015

This house was perfect for us. Lots of space, but still cosy, with a very well equipped kitchen. The location was great, right on the National Cycle Path, and close to lots of levely walking.

Owner's reply: Many thanks for your kind review. It's always good to hear when folk have made the most of the location and facilities of Glenvarloch. Best wishes, John & Glenise
