“Perfect, Tranquil & ideal location.”

Reviewed 21 Apr 2017

Fabulous spacious and modern house decorated to a high standard, located in an ideal location. Literally from your doorstep there is something for everyone to do whether that be walking, fishing, cycling, absolutely breathtaking views, deer watching etc... We visited Urquhart castle, Glen Torridon, Chanory point and many other places... all were within a 40 - 60 minute drive. The kids absolutely loved the gardens and were constantly exploring and playing with the baby lambs next door. If you walk up the steep hill behind the house you find the most beautiful uninterrupted views, we saw over a dozen deer in less than an hour. If you fancy watching the Dolphins take a short drive to Chanory point in Fortrose only 35 to 40 min drive away there is a nice beach area just behind the lighthouse and the kids will love it. After a long day we all enjoyed coming back to the house as there was always something to do. The sauna is great... The fact that there is 4 bathrooms with a shower in each really helps. We loved the open plan living/kitchen area and spent a lot of time on the balcony. This is not a log cabin as we first thought ... it has been done to a very high standard and everything works as it should.. clearly a lot of money has gone into the design of this house. If I had to be really picky then I would say that the mattresses were a bit too firm for my liking but it didn't bother anyone else so it's probably just me. Iain the owner was really helpful, he explained everything to us and recommended some great places for us to go and see. I would definately recommend staying here... We loved it so much we are already planning a trip back in August. The pictures were taken just at the top of the hill behind the house.

“Modern, comfortable property ideal for larger groups with fantastic views.”

Fabulous, modern property the open plan living space ideal for larger groups, it is equipped with everything you could think of. Very clean and comfortable beds, plenty of shower rooms also finished to a high standard. The log burner made the property warm and cosy. Easy to find with the directions the owner supplied. The views of the surrounding area are amazing, and the peace and quiet much welcomed, ideal get away from the hustle and bustle of city life, would thoroughly recommend.

“Big modern beautiful house, equipped with everything!”

Reviewed 28 Jul 2016

Our extended family, including five young children, stayed at Rathad for five days. It is a spacious, modern, beautiful house, environmentally friendly, with a balcony with a view of the nearby loch. The house was equipped with everything you could want (even a sauna!), including lots of toys, games (e.g. twister, foosball), bikes and trikes to keep all the kids happy and busy. The house was spotlessly clean and the beds were comfortable. The owner, Iain, kept in touch by email and phone to make sure everything was running smoothly. The only real drawback for us (though some might consider this an advantage), was that the house was pretty isolated, and at the end of a five-mile long single lane road. So it took a good twenty minutes to reach stores, etc. We used the town of Dingwall, which has a huge Tesco store where you can buy groceries, and just about anything else you want.

“Peace perfect peace”

Loved our weekend break with my extended faimily for my mothers 70th. There were 15 of us in total and the house was perfect. The facilities were superb and the home had everything you need. We took our own food and enjoyed the open plan upper space immensely . Don't plan on nipping to the corner shop or takeaway cause there ain't one wishing 20 min drive. The autumn scene was magnificent and the glen is peppered with lochs and dams and hills. We borrowed Iain's bikes which were ace and I cycled to Rogie Falls , which was around 15 miles round trip. Would defo return .

“Fantastic, spacious accommodation in a beautiful setting.”

The house is fitted out to a very high standard and it was great to find a place that toiletries already on hand. We had some great walks straight out of the house and features like freesat and wifi helped to keep the kids entertained in the evening.

“Fabulous in every way”

We booked the lodge for a week to act as a base for a family wedding in Strathpeffer. What an excellent choice. From the very first contact with the owners everything was well organised and hassle free. The Property is spotlessly clean, superbly equipped and a very high standard in every regard. A great location and I unreservedly recommend it to anybody who wants a place to enjoy a "get away from it all" haven.

“Heaven on earth.”

“Beautiful setting, lovely house”

Reviewed 18 May 2014

A lovely setting and a lovely house. All queries in the lead up to the booking were dealt with very quickly and the owner was very helpful. We booked the house for a group of us, so all the bedrooms were in use (and some) but there was still plenty of room and crockery/towels etc to go around.

“It was a superb location in a beautifull country”

Reviewed 25 Apr 2014

An isolated home with a nice view and dears at your window every morning and evening. A complete kitchen. Very clean, with well equiped bathrooms. Warm if needed. 2 terraces. Beautifull walks in the neighbourhood. A brilliant place to explore the highlands...

“Well positioned, well appointed and in a beautiful part of the Highlands”

Reviewed 16 Feb 2014

Located in the glen within sight of Loch Meig, this eco friendly house is extremely well appointed in a beautiful setting that is within easy reach of Inverness and Nairn. For those who prefer organic foods, the area is very well appointed. Great scenery for great hikes. If Winter was this good then the Summer must be incredible!
