Location description from owner

The England region

Brassknocker Cottage is on the edge of the wonderful Warwickshire village of Binton which is steeped in history and features four times in the Doomsday Book of 1086. The area has many characterful properties and open countryside, yet is very convenient for the nearby towns of Stratford upon Avon and Alcester.

Stratford-upon-Avon

Brassknocker Cottage offers an excellent base for sight seeing being less than four miles from the tourist mecca of Stratford upon Avon, and the Shakespeare properties Mary Arden's Farm and Anne Hathaway's Cottage. The lovely country estate of Ragley Hall is just five miles away. (Please visit the 'Discover' section of the Exclusively Warwickshire website for more information on places to visit nearby in South Warwickshire)

The area is blessed with a multitude of fine pubs including The Blue Boar Inn at Temple Grafton (less than five minutes walk from the property), The Bell Inn (named 'Best Dinning Pub in Warwickshire 2016) at nearby Welford on Avon (3 miles away) and the quirky riverside pub The Fish at Wixford (3.5 miles) to name but a few!

Getting around

There is no public transport in the vicinity of the cottage (the closest BR Stations are in Stratford upon Avon and Wilmcote, both 4 miles from the property) so a car is advisable. A list of local taxi firms is included in the cottage's information file. There is plenty of scenic cycling country around the cottage so why not bring a bike?

Interaction with guest

The cottage's owner Jan and the Exclusively Warwickshire team will be more than happy to advise you before and during your stay.

House rules

As you might expect from a bijou 400 year old property, Brassknocker Cottage has plenty of lovely characterful features including slopping ceilings, a dog leg staircase (which might not be ideal for toddlers or younger children), smallish shower cubicle and a beam in one of the bedrooms (which may necessitate lowering your head if you're 5ft 11" or taller!) we think these little foibles only add to its charm, but we thought we should let you know in advance out of courtesy!
