“Slightly disappointing”

Reviewed 28 Apr 2018

Not as good as I’d hoped for. The place was filthy with large old cobwebs hanging from the rafters. The tiles were falling off the shower and the shower didn’t stay in place. The stench of chlorine from the hot tub persuaded us not to use it, although the weather played a part in that too. Biggest disappointment was the fact there was no milk for a much needed cuppa upon our arrival, despite assurances that milk was available. On the plus side, it was in a very convenient location and very quiet. Thankfully we’re not high maintenance people so it fulfilled our needs.

“Utterly disappointed”

Where to start.... The cottage is well equipped however it was dirty. The floor was dirty and the rug in the lounge was stained. There is a picture in the lounge and it has lots of dead flies in it. The window coverings weren't adequate to keep light out so therefore not suitable for children as our children were awake at 5:30 when the sun came up. The hot tub was nice HOWEVER the chemicals used were obviously wrong as it made our eyes really sore and has actually dyed our costumes! This cottage is advertised as having wifi however this doen't work and when we asked the manager about this she provided istructions which still led to it not working and then proceeding to ignore our calls which is terrible and not what you expect. This property could be really nice however it requires alot of TLC and of course a manager that is attentive and interested in their guests havin a nice stay. Just one final point - the pictures are misleading. I have many pictures of what this cottage actually looks like.

“Relaxing and comfy perfect for a short break”

Reviewed 20 Apr 2016

My partner and I have stayed at Romeo Cottage several times, and without exception have had a wonderful time. Antonia was incredibly helpful and generous to us, in allowing us early entry on arrival date, and late departure on final day, so we were able to enjoy the absolute maximum time of our 2 night stays. She is also very communicative, and nothing is too much trouble, and it is always so appreciated by us. The cottage is lovely and comfortable and well-equipped and warm. We tend to visit out of season, so we appreciate the warmth! The location is great - just off the beaten track, but very convenient for visiting Stratford and Henley in Arden and also good for walks. We 100% recommend this cottage for anyone who just wants a break and peace and quiet. It is the perfect place for us.

“Amazing cottage”

My partner and I have stayed in Shakespeare cottages before a few times for a one night getaway. We had two lovely nights at romeo cottage and absolutely loved it, yet again Antonia was great. The cottage itself was lovely, everything you need for a getaway with heaps of character!! The hot tub was the perfect finishing touch. Can't wait to go back!
