“Beautiful Setting”

Reviewed 8 Sep 2016

The lodge is right next to the river in a quiet corner of the site. The kitchen, living room and double bedroom are spacious and well equipped. You can walk into Stratford in approx 25 minutes. There is a fairly frequent river taxi but it only carries 6 people at a time so we didn't have much success with that. The village of Tiddington is about 15 mins walk and it has a Spar a Pub and some nice restaurants - we ate in the pub a couple of times and the food was very good. I would recommend the Stratford town walk which takes just over 2 hours and is very interesting.

Thank you very much for your informative Review which helps other Holidaymakers and offers ideas of where to go and what to do. The River Taxi starts its outward journey at Riverside Park right by the new £2m Clubhouse ( and small Play area) however it will drop off by the Lodge on the return trip FROM Stratford if you ask the Captain. It runs 10am to 5 pm April to October and costs £2 per short, scenic trip into the Town Centre ( near RSC) £1 for children. We are glad you enjoyed the Lodge and found it spacious. Thank you, again, for writing us a lovely Review.

“Just the perfect getaway...”

Reviewed 14 Jul 2016

From the moment we arrived to the moment we left, we had a smile on our faces! The lodge was just the perfect getaway... Great location over looking the River Avon, very peaceful and friendly people around! The lodge itself was immaculate, had everything you would require. Easy access to Stratford-Upon-Avon via the taxi boat.... Lots to see and do. Most definitely will be returning! Thank you for letting us stay and for all the information we needed! Highly recommended!

Thank you very much for your kind and informative Review which will also help other holidaymakers coming to Shakespeare's Stratford.

“Idyllic location for quiet relaxing holiday”

Reviewed 18 Nov 2012

The lodge is perfectly situated on the banks of the River Avon. You sit having breakfast or watching the sunset with geese, swans, herons and rabbits just outside. A river taxi stops at your door on the way home from a day out in beautiful Stratford upon Avon. The lodge itself is furnished with a mixture of old (antique) and new (modern kitchen and en-suite with good sized open plan living / dining room). The property is in lovely condition - no dirty marks / scrapes to be seen. It is a place for board games and books rather than televison, however the on-site wifi (extra cost) is reasonably reliable if you want an internet connection. If you have any queries then the owner (Christine) is very helpful. Basic on-site facilities are available (outdoors cafe) & indoors bar / games room open only at weekends / school holidays. The lodge itself is perfect for self-catering, it has lots of bedding, but only enough cutlery / crockery for exactly 4 people - if there are 4 of you staying then you might end up washing up in between courses. For reasonably active people, the lodge is a 15 minute easy cycle ride to the centre of Stratford. Stratford has tourist attractions, theatre, shopping and dining. There is also a large leisure centre. We would definitely go back.

Thanks for that great Review. We would like to offer you 20%Discount OFF your next stay. Also there will be more cutlery in the drawer. Thank you for leaving the Lodge so ckean & tidy. Christine & James
