OVERALL, Fantastic space, welcoming, warm and atmospheric, this is a quite special space!!

Situated near St. Thomas church and the bridge of St. Thomas, you are just in one of the most beautiful quartier of Strasbourg. NO need to use bus, car or tram.

Real -wood kitchen and a separate dining room with pantry and all conveniences; large living room with a piano, Wifi; 2 bedrooms with double beds and additional floating single beds; 1 separate bathtub, 1 separate shower room and 2 wc. At the front of the house the apartment enjoys of Large windows , looking onto the River Ill, Petite France and the bridge of St. Thomas. At the rear of the house, the apartment enjoys views of a tranquile and pleasant garden only for use of the Protestant Deaconess.

Our building is very old (1689) and beautiful and well maintained. The building has 3 floors. A family per floor and a clean and well looked after communal courtyard. This is why we stress the fact that our guests should be responsible and courteous regarding noise in the staircase, central courtyard and in the house.

A cleaning cash FEE of €15 for each guest is payable at departure. A breakfast pack (tea/coffe, juice, milk, jams, butter and muesli) for your party is provided for the duration of your stay.

The apartment is on the first floor. The original staircase has 23 steps. They are very wide and low (4cmx58cm) because the horses from 1800's used to go up the stairs carrying building materials for the house.

If you are coming by car, you can come straight to the front door ("unloading bay)"to drop bags and family/friends. We can show you then on a map, which streets to park for free.

There is an outdoor cat in the building called Bowie, he normally comes in and out of the apt by balancing on the door handle. Bowie is fed by us when we are home and by my friend when we are not at the apt. If you do not wish to have the cat in the apt, pls make sure you lock the front door when you are in so he can't come in.

Please enquiry about minimum number of people for a booking. If your dates are flexible or if you have a fixed budget please email me too.

Location description from owner

The Grand Est region

The apartment is very central and very well located for sightseeing. You can walk everywhere and it is easy and convenient to pop in and out anytime of the day. The views on the front of the apartment are on the quai, the river Ill and Petite France (St. Thomas bridge and church), you can see the cathedral top from us too, we are just a 5mts walk to the cathedral and to the batorama quay.

Wander through the historical city of Strasbourg; taste wonderful wines in the charming villages along the Route du Vin; hike to medieval castle ruins in the Vosges and the Black Forest; indulge in the spas of Baden Baden; visit the fabulous car museum in Mulhouse; take a day trip to Basel; walk through the underground bastions of the Maginot Line; and more....

Strasbourg

All walking minutes away. Located in hyper picturesque Petite France, walking close to the main attractions. This is a safe residential area with many of the houses are historically protected, but with plenty of terraces, brocades, street markets, all types of shops (art & vintage), tea and coffee tearooms, the most famous restaurants.

Cathédrale Notre Dame. Built between 1176 and 1439 and with a 142 metre tower (the highest cathedral tower in France), the cathedral is undoubtedly Strasbourg's finest architectural highlight. Just near-by on place du Château is the Musée de l'Oeuvre Notre Dame [22]- a splendid museum of medieval religious art related to the cathedral.

Astrometric Clock in the cathedral. Be sure to get there at noon to watch the clock change hours. It is a truly amazing feat for a nearly 300 year old clock. When standing in front of the clock, be sure to look up and to your left to see the statue of the clock's architect looking at his masterpiece.

Maison Kammerzell (XVth century) (to the left of the front of the cathedral)

Palais des Rohan, French style palace, built after the acquisition of the town by the French (1681). Home to the Museum of Fine Arts, the Archaeological Museum and the Museum of Applied Arts.

L'Opera the beautiful baroque style opera house and home to the city's famous opera company L'Opera National du Rhin. They do stunning productions with really wonderful, young talent. Located at the Broglie tram stop.

Musée Alsacien, 23-25, quai Saint-Nicolas (just across the river from the Ancienne Douane). Closed on Tuesday. This museum features articles from the daily lives of Alsatian peoples from the 13th to 19th centuries: clothing, furniture, toys, tools of artisans and farmers, and religious objects used in Christian, Jewish, and even pagan rites. The exhibits are in rooms connected by wooden staircases and balconies in adjacent multistory Renaissance-era houses around a central courtyard.

Petite France is the name given to the small area between the rivers, just south of the Grande Île. It is home to some of Strasbourg's prettiest and most photogenic streets and buildings, with half timbered townhouses (maison a colombages) leaning out over the narrow cobbled streets. Petite France resembles Colmar (a city an hour south), with picturesque canal and half-timber houses.

Enjoy it. Eva
