Description

Strangford has been a local favourite with family and friends for many years. Seal Cabin provides the opportunity to unplug from the internet and distractions of television in this secluded spot on the outskirts of Strangford village. The cabin would be described as a bijou seaside bedsit retreat which can sleep up to 4 people. Its open plan living gives views from every room of Strangford Lough and out to the Irish Sea. The cabin has 1 double bed, living space with comfortable sofa bed and cast iron gas stove, compact dining table and chairs, kitchenette and shower room. The kitchenette is small but functional with a refrigerator, counter top oven, portable ceramic hob, sink, toaster, kettle and appropriate kitchenware.

For guests who don’t want to miss their favourite television shows we have a television with built in dvd player. There is also a retro radio with docking station for ipods or iphones.

Although the space is bijou it has all the home comforts our guests will need for a relaxing stay. We also have bicycles which our guests can avail of for a small fee, please contact us for details. Guests also use the bicycles at their own risk and will be required to sign a disclaimer to that effect if they wish to use the bicycles. Please note pets are not allowed.

Getting around

There is a bus service from Strangford village into Downpatrick which is the main town, this links into other areas/locations with a regular bus service. There is also a local taxi but would recommend booking as there is only one.l

Interaction with guest

Generally the hosts Sonya and Mark are on hand for any queries however guests come and go as they please during their stay. The cabin has a Welcome Folder which contains information about the local area, tourist information, facilities etc. Sonya and/or Mark usually meet guests on arrival to explain things about the local area and answer any queries they may have. If they can't they will be in touch with guests and try to address any queries or provide assistance prior to their stay.

“Perfect spot for an anniversary”

A beautiful, quiet secluded little home (only 30 miles) from home, we spent the night here for our 2nd wedding anniversary and between the welcome, the warmth of the cabin and the stars on show that night, it was utter perfection, we'll be back!

“tranquil, beautiful and bijou”

a lovely spot to stay over for a few days, small but containing everything you need from self catering accommodation. Owners v friendly and helpful, and they provide a basket of basic food stuffs to get you settled in (including yea/coffee/bread/butter/jam/cereal and milk in the fridge). Amazing view of the lough and very peaceful, a wonderful get away from it all spot!

“Perfect hideaway”

Beautifully located amazing views especially on a sunny clear day. Hosts were extremely welcoming and informed us of everything that was going on in the village. Cabin is spotless clean something different if you don't fancy a hotel. One little part that we think could be changed would be the privacy from the main house.

We will consider your comments about privacy from the main house, although it might be difficult to erect another fence as the current one divides off as much of the drive way as possible to still allow access to/from the cabin for our guests. How do damage deposits work?
