Description from owner

Scardenmore is an ideal base for your holiday in the stunning area of County Sligo.

Whether it be mountains and lakes you wish to explore, the beautiful dramatic coastline, the abundance of leisure facilities-golfing, surfing, horse riding, fishing, our modern and well equipped home will provide the perfect place from which to experience all that the area has to offer.

The Western Ireland region

Sligo, capital of the North West region, is one of Ireland’s largest towns. Sligo offers a unique destination with the dramatic backdrop of Benbulben, glimmering beaches, rolling green hills, and magical woodlands, with unsurpassed leisure activities and state-of-the-art business facilities, few places can compete as a destination for leisure or business.

From water sports and golf to seaweed baths and horse riding or even some leisurely fishing, the county has so much to offer you whatever your interests may be. From the myths and legends of ancient Ireland to the poetry of Yeats and the music of Coleman, Westlife and Dervish, Sligo’s cultural and literary heritage is world famous and still actively celebrated.

Strandhill

Strandhill Village is a popular seaside village situated approx 3km from Scardenmore, and is a mecca for surfing enthusiasts from all over the world.

Strandhill Beach is about a mile in length and you can enjoy a beautiful walk along the coastline at low tide, surrounded by the dramatic mountain of Knocknarea and the famous Strandhill sand dunes.

The village boasts a number of pubs, restaurants and cafes, all child friendly and is home to the famous, award winning Voya Seaweed Baths, a must-experience attraction for any new visitor to the area.

“No hesitation in recommending this clean, comfortable & spacious property.”

Reviewed 11 Jul 2013

There is a wealth of drawer & hanging space in the bedrooms, and excellent baby equipment provided. With the shore & causeway within easy pushchair walking distance, a Newmarket runner in the stables next door, and the glorious Srandhill beach and the car park for the Knocknarea summit walk only a short drive away, the house is in a very good location.

“a beautiful house in an ideal location for us to visit friends and explore ireland”

Reviewed 10 Jul 2013

The house is lovely and the information for the property is very useful. The whole family loved the house and cannot wait to go again!
