Very Good

“Relaxing weekend”

Reviewed 6 Apr 2019

We loved our weekend away at Ardfyne. The house is in a quiet location with great views from the upper floor. The owners have provided everything you would need for a gathering of up to 10 people. The bedrooms are all spacious with three being en-suite, was just perfect for us. The kitchen is also great as it is large enough and also having two full size ovens and an American style fridge freezer combined with under worktop fridge and freezer meant plenty of space for food for 10 people. There’s not a lot to do in the village but the Creggans is very relaxed, very dog and baby friendly, had great food and was just a 25 minute walk away. We have stayed in many ‘holiday homes’ in Scotland and abroad, none of them being ‘perfect’ but Ardfyne was very clean, spacious, bright, welcoming with great views and whilst there were a few wee things that could be upgraded I feel the owners have put a lot of thought into what people want most and ticked all those boxes. We had a great weekend!

Owner's reply: Delighted to hear that you had a great weekend. Thank you too for highlighting the space that Ardfyne offers guests. Would love to welcome you back.

“Family weekend”

Stayed for a weekend for a family celibration plenty of room and well appointed with beautiful views of Loch Fyne. Short walk to local shop etc.. Would highly recommend.

Owner's reply: Thank you for your lovely review and for highlighting the space that Ardfyne offers. The house offers peace and quiet but is also within walking distance of local amenities. Would love to welcome you back for the next family celebration.

“Great for family”

Booked for long weekend with family lovely house with amazing views. Plus plenty of space for everyone

Owner's reply: Great to hear that all the family enjoyed the space of Ardfyne and that you were able to enjoy the views.

The house was fantastic and the views were just stunning, we didn't even use the downstairs lounge. We were happy sitting upstairs taking in all the scenery. Such an amazing house would highly recommend. There are numerous walks within the argyll forest all with amazing settings, Pucks Glen was by far my favourite. Also worth a visit is Fyne Ales, really enjoyed my drink after our walk up to the Tree Hoose. Would have liked to go on the tour but we had the dog with us so wasn't an option. I wouldn't recommend the cafe where the shop is, as this has just been taken over and it showed that they didn't know what they were doing. Felt sorry for the one person that was there who had to deal with the shop customers as well as the cafe ones, along with preparing the food etc. The food was not great either, never tried the cakes to be honest just wanted out of there in the end. The Creggans Inn i would recommend great staff and lovely food.

Owner's reply: Thank you for your lovely review. There certainly are a lot of beautiful places to visit in the area.

“First holiday in Scotland”

Reviewed 17 Sep 2017

We stayed at Ardfyne with two other couples and our three dogs. The house was clean and spacious. It was lovely that the garden was enclosed, so we knew that our dogs were safe. The views from the house were fantastic. We traveled around the area, found some wonderful walks and plenty of things to do. The local pub was welcoming and they were also happy for our dogs to sit inside whilst we had a meal.

Owner's reply: Delighted to hear that all of you including the dogs had a really enjoyable first holiday in Scotland. Would love to welcome you back.

“Fantastic stay!”

Just back from a fantastic week in a lovely house! Lovely location and great value for money! All ten of us fitted in the house easily and lovely views from the balcony, definitely recommend!!

Owner's reply: Great to hear that you all enjoyed the space that Ardfyne has to offer. The balcony is certainly the place to enjoy the views of Loch Fyne.

“Fab house!”

Reviewed 24 Feb 2017

We stayed at ardfyne for a long weekend. It was a family trip and 8 of us, ages from 2 to 70. The house was great. Had everything we needed, was lovely and clean. The layout is perfect as so much space for the kids and the garden with little secret passages was a hit! We will be back.

Owner's reply: Lovely to hear that Ardfyne catered for all ages. Would love to welcome you back, especially if you can come in the Spring or early Summer when the garden is in full bloom and the children would really be able to enjoy the space both outside and inside.

“Lovely house”

Reviewed 16 Jan 2017

We stayed at this lovely house for three nights and I would happily go back again. The house was clean and very spacious with everything you need for a self catering holiday. The views from every window are stunning and the house is in a good location for traveling to Inveraray, Oban and many other beautiful places. This house is very good for children as it has a games room. The owners were very helpful and quick to respond when contacted. I would highly recommend this house for a family holiday.

Owner's reply: Great to hear that you would return. Also thank you for pointing out that the house is very good for children.

“Family Holiday”

Reviewed 30 Jul 2016

Lovely home, stunning scenery. The house is very well stocked with appliances, 2 fridges and freezers are ideal for a large family, bedrooms are spacious and sitting areas are very nice and relaxing, the upstairs lounge has a wonderful view over the loch. If I have one small complaint I found it strange that there was no clothes drying facilities available, a whirlygig or drier would have made all the difference.

Owner's reply: So pleased to hear that you enjoyed Ardfyne and the scenery. With regard to drying facilities, we do provide a clothes line, pegs and a clothes horse so that guests can make use of the 2 covered deck areas that guarantee dry clothes in the sea breezes even when it rains. It is not unknown for whirlygigs to get blown away.

“Lovely house with fantastic views”

Great location with lovely garden area. Friendly owners who are quick to respond to any queries you may have.

Owner's reply: Many thanks for your nice review. Also a thank you for complimenting the garden.
