Location description from owner

The Cotswolds region

The Cotswolds is a beautiful part of England with honey-coloured stone buildings, slate roofs, tea shops, antique dealers, pubs and restaurants in abundance. There really is something for everyone in the Cotswolds: history, countryside, shopping, dining - or simply wonderful surroundings for a leisurely walk or to relax and do nothing much at all. For race-goer, Cheltenham racecourse is a short drive away.

Places to visit include Broadway, Broadway Tower, Bourton-on-the-Water, Lower Slaughter (the Mill is particularly interesting) and Burford (featured on Time Team) - all with their own uniqueness, walks, tea shops and Arts & Crafts studios.

In 1476 an abbot petitioned for a charter for two fairs, the first in May and the second in October. The charters were granted for May 12th, the feast of Saints Philip and James and the October 24th the feast of St. Edward the Confessor and these dates are still used today to decide the gipsy horse fair.

Stow-on-the-Wold

Throughout the Cotswolds stone features in buildings and stone walls act as a common thread in seamlessly blending the historic towns & villages with their surrounding landscape.

“Lovely cottage in a Great location”

Reviewed 28 Nov 2016

Serendipity is in a fantastic location and is a lovely holiday cottage. Had everything we needed as a young family and lots of amenities in the town, all within a few minutes walk, we would definitely return. Beautiful part of the country and a great base to explore the surrounding countryside including the Slaughters, Bourton-on-the-water, Cheltenham etc.......

Thank you so much for those kind words. We look forward to you coming back to Stow. Pat and Claire

“A perfect short break in an immaculate cosy cottage!”

Reviewed 4 Feb 2016

This cottage is ideally situated for a visit to Stow on the Wold with shops, pubs and restaurants all within easy walking distance. Parking for us was straightforward and the cottage itself was well equipped and immaculate. We're looking forward to a return visit!

Thank you for your kind comments - we look forward to you coming back. Pat and Claire

“Lovely Stay for new year”

Reviewed 25 Jan 2016

Great location and wonderful facilities central to Stow. The accommodation is well equipped with all the necessities required for a self catering stay. Parking is a challenge, but not an issue after 5pm. My only recommendation is for their to be a welcome pack of things to do or don'ts really, luckily we knew the area quite well of where to go including walks and places to eat. Would definitely return, the place was great, warm and full of character.

Thank you for choosing Serendipity to stay and thank you for your feedback. A more detailed welcome pack is now available in the Cottage. We hope to see you there again soon Claire & Pat
