Shops and bakeries selling a range of locally produced goods are in abundance and local farmers markets can regularly be found in Stow, Moreton-in-Marsh and Bourton-on-the-Water.Within a short drive from the cottage you can explore the picturesque towns and villages of Chipping Norton, The Slaughters, Chipping Campden and Burford. Walking and cycling enthusiasts will find Stow-on-the-Wold an ideal base as many pathways run through the town. Shakespeare's Stratford-Upon-Avon is a little further afield, but well worth a visit. “The perfect English getaway - and a short drive from London!”

Reviewed 16 Mar 2015

Carters Cottage surpassed all our expectations and we are certain to return. We've thought about it a lot since our visit and we agree it was the union of pleasant seeming opposites: cozy in its charming English feel yet spacious, modern yet rustic, foreign yet familiar. It felt like home immediately and in the cold of late February it was warm oasis. The cottage was also very well appointed and we easily found everything we were looking for. The location was ideal - the countryside ramble started only a few yards from the front door and yet everything we needed during the weekend was also less than a three-minute walk. The surrounding area is full of attractions and things to do, we barely made it half-way through the list in 3 days.

“Great cottage, great location, home from home and you can bring your dogs.”

Reviewed 22 May 2014

We have been to Carters cottage 3 times now in the summer and winter and love it. A beautiful cottage, excellent location to walk into Stow, you can just park the car and forget about it. We have taken our 2 dogs and our friend bought theirs, the garden although small is very secure and there are some great walks on the doorstep, 5 minutes and you are in the country side. What surprises you is the silence despite being in the middle of a town. Stow is busy in the day but at night is quiet with some fantastic pubs and eateries. The cottage is well presented, everything you need and some thoughtful little touches like wine, chocolates, wellies and coats if you have forgotten yours! We will definitely be back again
