Location description from owner

The Scotland region

Stornoway is the main township on the Isle of Lewis, the most northern island in the Hebridean island chain. Rich in history, culture and personality, Stornoway is a gateway to the rest of the Hebrides and the ideal base to come back to after a day in the great outdoors.

The Isle of Harris, connected to Lewis by a thin peninsular is not to be missed. Voted to have some of the most spectacular beaches in the world, it offers fabulous walking and wildlife experiences, alongside some fantastic galleries and eateries

Stornoway

Part of the charm of the house is being situated in a working harbour and being amidst the hustle and bustle of all that entails! However we do not have any control over what happens within the harbour or when the fishing boats come and go - sometimes in the wee hours! For most, hearing the boats loading and loading is all part of the experience but for the lighter sleepers we recommend sleeping in our double room, which is virtually sound proof with secondary glazing!
