From the owner

The Old Bake House is the ideal place to escape and enjoy living in an historic building which was once the village Bake House. As a grade II listed Cotswold stone building it retains its original features with the entrance opening into a hall which was once the site of the oven. It is situated in the heart of the village close to the shops, pub and public transport

The views from the cottage are over rolling hills and countryside with excellent walks including the Oxfordshire Way, which runs alongside the boundary of the property, and a lovely walk through beech woods and over a stream to the nearby Roman Villa. It is well placed for visiting the old market town of Burford, the 'Gateway to the Cotswolds', Stow-On-The -Wold, Morton In Marsh and Bourton-On-Water, all picturesque Cotswold towns. Oxford with its University Colleges, parks and shopping is only 12 miles and the historic market town of Woodstock and Blenheim Palace, the birth place of Winston Churchill, are 2 miles away.

For those who enjoy shopping Bicester Village, is only 13 miles away and for Theatre goers The Royal Shakespeare Theatre and birthplace of William Shakespeare at Stratford -On-Avon is just a fourty minute drive as well as a variety of theatres and musical events in Oxford.

The village is well facilitated with its own Pub which serves food, a grocery store, a Post Office and a hairdresser. There is a regular bus service to Oxford, Charlbury railway station is only 2miles away with trains to London Paddington and Oxford Parkway railway station is a 20 minute drive away with easy parking and frequent trains to Euston station.

The cottage is cosy with gas central heating and a wood burning stove. On the ground floor is a large hallway, downstairs toilet, living room with French windows, a kitchen dining room fully equipped with a cooker, fridge, dishwasher, washing machine, and microwave. WIFI and freeview TV are also available. On the first floor is a double bedroom with King Size bed, a second twin bedroom, and a bathroom which includes a traditional cast iron roll top bath. Crisp white linen and towels are provided.

The Old Bake House has its own courtyard seating area with barbeque, from which you can enjoy the sunset in the evening and rolling countryside during the day.
