Description

** Winner of TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence 2014**

Standing imposingly in its own large garden, the Old Mill has been carefully refurbished to provide 7 floors of cutting edge design against a backdrop of original features. Glass bannisters, steel staircases and granite worktops blend perfectly with red brick, oak floors and the original workings of the old flour mill.

The house brims with character: Beamed ceilings, woodburners, open fires, squishy sofas.

The huge stainless steel and oak kitchen has french doors leading to the large BBQ area and heated swimming pool (Pool open from April to October incl).

The split level heavily beamed sitting room has the original mill stone as its central feature.

The ground floor of the tower is presented as a formal dining room, whilst overhead, on the first floor, a stunning glass walkway connects the house to the Mill Tower.

“Stunning property”

Reviewed 17 Feb 2017

This is the perfect place for a get together for a large group. Everything you could need in a most unusual property, Quiet location with wonderful views from the top of the tower. Gary most helpful and on hand if needed.

“Amazing!”

We stayed at The Old Mill in November to celebrate 2 Birthdays and there was 16 of us. The Mill is so beautifully done we could not fault a thing. Sandra was so helpful during the booking process which made everything easy! We had opted to have private dining on the Saturday night on the large table in the actual wind mill. Gary, the chef and owner, cooked an absolutely delicious 3 course meal for us. His 2 sons were the waiters and they were such fun! We had such a good time at the mill and cannot wait to return!

We stayed at the house last weekend to celebrate a family birthday. There were 11 of us in total including 3 children. Sandra and Gary bent over backwards to ensure we had everything we needed prior to arrival, issuing us with directions, details for local pubs/ takeaways and things to do in the area. We paid for the pool heating which was great - it was really warm and we had a fair few hours of fun in there. The games rooms outside was well equipped and kept us entertained also! The rooms were lovely and the main house wa stealth warm. There was more than ample space for the 11 of us. We'd definitely recommend this place to anyone who wants to relax with a large group of people in a spacious yet comfortable setting - there's a great homely feel to the place.

“An Outstanding stay”

Reviewed 17 Oct 2016

We stayed at The Old Mill for two nights and had a fantastic time! We had family coming over from Australia who not only enjoyed the comfortable features, swimming pool and games room but also like the fact they were staying in an old converted mill! The owner, Sandra, made the whole booking process easy and was extremely accommodating. There were 16 of us in total and we never felt like there wasn't enough space! Absolutely incredible stay, we would of love to of stayed there longer!

“The best weekend ever”

Reviewed 3 Oct 2016

Booked this property for my sister's very tame hen do! Sandra was beyond helpful when booking. The property easily slept 14 of us, and unbelievably it is even better than the pictures suggest! The hens were so excited and in awe of the windmill and all its amazing facilities (hot pool, games room and a tower!!). I honestly don't think there is a more perfect property out there for a group of this size. We used every room and enjoyed every minute! It is also completely equipped with everything you need. We wanted to stay for way longer than the weekend!!

“Perfect”

What do you buy/do for your Dads 80th birthday when theres nothing much left to buy him that he has'nt already got?? .....you take him to The Old Mill with his 3 children, their partners & his grandchildren, oh & our mum!! We all had a great time playing in the pool. We had table tennis & pool competitions & even played cricket & badminton. Plenty of space, so much so that Dad kept getting lost!! No need to go out on the evening of his birthday just get Florientina to come in & cater for you. Had a wondeful meal sitting under the glass walk way looking up to the original workings of the mill. In fact we only left the Mill once to go get some food & my Dads paper...... Nothing short of perfect. Dont hesitate just book!

“Cracking place for a long weekend for 30th Birthday Parties”

Reviewed 10 Jul 2016

Amazing place to go with a large group of friends (12) to celebrate numerous 30th's. Unique rooms, plenty of space with large garden and nice heated pool where we spent most of the the time using all the sports equipment that is available at the Mill. The view from the top of the mill is impressive. A great place to take drinks up to pre dinner. Only a 40 minute drive to decent beach area at Hunstanton. Would definitely go again! Already been recommending this place to others.

“Fantastic accommodation , 5* rating from all 12 of us”

Reviewed 9 Jul 2016

We visited The Old Mill as a large family group aged from 12 to 78 years old, we all with out exception loved it . The house is spacious but homely and each area is big enough to eat together as a group with plenty of options to eat in the dining room , al fresco or kitchen area . We swam daily and played various games in the garden including cricket and rounders. We had 3 dogs with us and enjoyed local river side walks. Some members went on a boat trip to see the seals, while others visited local towns such as Ely , Downham Market and Kings Lynn,. It is a wonderful place to stay and the owners Gary and Sandra very accommodating , it fully deserves 5 stars .

“Great weekend break”

Reviewed 10 Jun 2013

Stayed with group of friends had a great time. Highlight was private dining, the food was outstanding. Owners went out of their way to meet our needs. Even though there were 15 of us there was plenty of room and lots to keep us entertained.

“The Old Mill is incredible!”

Reviewed 27 May 2013

Had a wonderful stay at The Old Mill with my husband and a group of friends to celebrate a special occasion. The renovation has been done to a very high standard, which makes The Old Mill feel very special - there was lots of running around and shouts of amazement when people first arrived & were exploring - there is so much space! It is perfect for a large group. Everyone commented on how comfy the beds were - some of the friends wished they could take the pillows & duvets home! The owners were very helpful and accommodating, during the preparations for our stay & during our time at The Old Mill - getting us a new gas canister for the barbecue at short notice... I would highly recommend The Old Mill!
