Gateway Cottages brings you a new stunning purpose built two-bedroomed cottage, with amazing panoramic views of Stirling Castle, National Wallace Monument and the Ochil hills. Like Mallard Cottage it is situated next to a working arable & pedigree beef farm, on the edge of the historic city of Stirling. You can look out your window in the morning to an amazing view of Wallace Monument in the background and a field of friendly prize-winning Limousin cows. Our location is perfect for walkers, birdwatchers, golfers, historians, shoppers and families of all ages. As it is all on one level it is also perfectly suited for people with mobility difficulties.

Here you have the opportunity to live in the country but only be a few minutes drive from everything you may need, making it a perfect holiday location.

It provides a convenient base from which you can explore both the City of Stirling and it's surrounding areas that are full of historic attractions (including many Outlander filming locations) that are both adult & child-friendly. It is a short drive away to Blairdrummond Safari Park & many local farm shops where you can sample the local produce in relaxing surroundings.

Our location is also ideally located to enable you to go on day trips to Loch Ness, Loch Lomond, the Trossachs (Scotland's first National Park), Edinburgh, Glasgow, Perth & St Andrews either by car or train from the local train station (approx. 2 miles away).

The property is also ideally suited for the active holidaymaker with excellent sporting facilities at the Peak sports village (incorporating an indoor swimming pool and ice rink), and the National Tennis Centre at Stirling University, all within a few miles of the cottage.

The cottage is furnished and equipped to the highest of standards allowing you to relax and enjoy your surroundings and holiday to the fullest.

Included in your rental is all linen, towels, electricity, heating, sample toiletries, starter pack of domestic goods (eg toilet rolls, dishwasher powder, washing up liquid etc.), smart TV inclusive of Netflix and unlimited high-speed Wi-Fi. In winter a starter pack of wood is available for the wood-burning stove, with further wood supplies available on site to purchase if required.

A fresh flower arrangement and lot's of complimentary extras such as tea/coffee and freshly made scones are there to greet you when you arrive.

For the young at heart of any age, a guided tour of our farm is available on request, where you can view our prize-winning herd of pedigree Limousin cattle and see the day to day runnings of a working farm, children must be supervised at all times by an adult when on the farm.

Our bedrooms are flexible & can either be made up with 2 single beds or 1 super-king sized bed(please confirm on booking how you would like the bedrooms made up).

All the rooms have underfloor heating with adjustable digital thermostats in each room.

A travel cot (no bedding supplied) & high chair for infants are available on request.

Living area:

This comprises a large open plan fitted kitchen, dining and living room area, with triple bi-fold doors that open out on to a private patio with spectacular views.

The lounge area is equipped with 2 leather sofas (3 seater and 2 seater), Voyage foot-stool, Hwam wood burning stove, nest of tables, Samsung 43" smart TV with Netflix, Samsung 3D blu-ray Disc/Dvd Player, Panasonic Bluetooth Wifi DAB + Micro Hi-Fi system, Wii games console with games and a book-case with a selection of board games, DVD's and tourist information.

The kitchen area is fully equipped with modern appliances that include an AEG fridge, a separate AEG freezer, slimline AEG dishwasher, AEG microwave, AEG ceramic hob, AEG oven/grill, Dualit kettle and 4-slice toaster and Nespresso capsule coffee maker (capsules not supplied).

The dining area has an extendable dining table which can seat up to 6 persons.

Bedroom areas:

Both rooms have two zip and link single beds that can be joined to make one super-king sized bed on request. In addition, each room has a freestanding wardrobe, a chest of drawers, a dressing table and stool, two bed-side tables and luggage rack. Projection alarm clocks and hairdryers are provided in both bedrooms. A 24" smart TV is located in the main bedroom, which can be moved into the other bedroom if requested. All windows have both blackout blinds & curtains.

Bathroom:

Excellent large shower area with top quality rain head shower with separate hand and head shower, large separate bath, heated towel rail and large landscape mirror with warm & cold lighting, heated pad, & shaving socket.

Utility:

AEG washer/dryer, iron & ironing board, deep sink, cordless Gtech hoover, combi oil central heating boiler and collapsible clothes drier.

Outside:

6 person private hot-tub, enclosed drive & garden, patio area with table & 4 chairs, charcoal bbq & off-road parking

How do damage deposits work?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your holiday booking page. To change your holiday dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Wendy (the owner) a message.

If Wendy (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
