Excellent accommodation decorated to a very high standard. Although there were four couples, there was plenty of room to both mingle as a group or enjoy your own space. The bedrooms were very well equipped and again decorated to a high standard. Susan and Arthur were great hosts and were always available to offer advice on places to visit and restaurants to eat. All in all an excellent place to stay. Highly recommended by all eight of us. The accommodation is ideally located for exploring the Scottish Borders or in our case playing golf with numerous courses to choose from.

"Wonderful Holiday Home"
Our family stayed at Stichill Mains the weekend of Friday, 19th - Sunday 21st July 2013 to celebrate Mum's 85th birthday. Our party consisted of 4 generations - Mum, her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. From the outset, Susan and Arthur couldn't have been more kind and helpful, their hospitality was second to none. The house is stunning and definitely has the 'Wow' factor. In fact the grandchildren had the camcorder out and made their own version of MTV's 'Welcome to my Crib'!!! The kitchen/dining room was where we spent most of our time - it is so large and ideal for family get-togethers, we all enjoyed sitting round the table chatting. The weather was fantastic too so we spent a lot of time sitting outside on the patio. The beds were so comfortable, a good night's sleep was guaranteed. There were also plenty of bath/shower rooms to keep our family happy. I cannot think of one single negative thing to say. Most importantly, mum had a wonderful time surrounded by her family. Thank you so much Susan and Arthur for a wonderful stay and look forward to sampling your hospitality again in the future.

"Absolutely Exceptional Property"
I am just back from a weekend away with friends where we stayed at Stichill Mains near Kelso and don't no were to start with my review on this property as it was simply stunning. From the minute we got there and met by the fantastic Sue we knew we were in for a treat. The barn conversion is out of this world. Decorated and maintained to the highest standard but still managing to make you feel right at home as soon as you walk in the door. I was lucky enough to get the biggest room as my friends thought I should have it as I organised our getaway. Well all I can say is I have brilliant friends. This room just took my breath away. I don't want to say too much about it because it might spoil the surprise of seeing it for the first time. All four bedrooms are decorated to such a high standard with such taste and simple touches that just make you realise the owners have gone that extra mile. I cannot recommend this property highly enough and would like to add how welcome the people of Kelso made us feel. Everyone shop assistants, taxi drivers, restaurant and bar staff wherever we went were just so nice. Nothing was a trouble to them. I have to highlight The Cobbles bar and restaurant. This place made us feel so at home and every Friday they have very talented local musicians and singers who will make your night memorable. Thank you one and all. Unfortunately we could not get booked at The Cobbles for a meal that evening as it was so busy but apparently the food is excellent and the next time we go back we will be booking early so we can have a meal there. However we did get bookedat Oscars which was also recommended to us by our hosts and have to say the food was excellent as were the staff. I really can't say any more than give this property and this lovely part of the world a go.

"What a wonderful find!"
I have just returned from Stitchill Mains after spending the weekend there with three friends. The house is lovely with loads of space and everything you could possibly want and more. Susan met us on arrival and gave us a very warm welcome and even drove us into town in the evening. We had a wonderful time for a very reasonable price and will definitely be heading back again. Thanks Susan.

"Excellent Holiday Cottage near Kelso"
I spent a week with my family in this fantastic enormous holiday letting in the Scottish Borders. They had never been to Scotland before, so it was great for them to see the Chiviots, Smailholm Tower, Kelso Abbey and Hume Castle. I also did my first shooting lesson with the owner who is a qualified shooting and fishing instructor. The house is warm, decorated to a high standard and really cosy.
