Location description from owner

The Hauts-de-France region

Most British tourists pass through this region at speed, on their way to the sunnier climes of the south. There is, however, much to see here. Historically, it has a lot to offer, from Agincourt, the site of the famous battle, to the Field of the Cloth of Gold, meeting place of Henry V111 and Francois 1er, through to monasteries and the First World War battlefields of the Somme. Various chateaux are to be found and there is a large bird nature reserve at Le Crotoy. Amiens boasts a famous cathedral and Lille is a city of culture, with lots to do and see for all ages. For a special day out, the beautiful city of Bruges, with its enchanting canals, is well worth a visit.

Stella-Plage

A short car drive will find you in the delightful walled town of Montreuil, where you can take a walk along the ramparts or enjoy a meal in one of the many excellent restaurants. The chic resort of Le Touquet is 10 minutes drive away. There you will find water chutes, golf, tennis, horse racing, horse riding and sand yachting, not to mention the shopping. Boulogne is half an hour away, with its marine centre Nausicaa and colourful market. Potteries, silk painting, historical sites and a theme park are also to be found in the area.

“Clean, quiet and convenient”

Reviewed 22 Jul 2013

Great little house, well equipped with all we needed. Well maintained garden. Brilliant weather meant we were out in the peaceful back garden most days, very private with sun until late evening. Quiet road with easy parking and pedestrian friendly. Can easily walk to the beach but parking is free at the front. Bakers, butchers, fishmongers and anything else you may need are just round the corner. Big supermarkets a short drive. Would recommend for a seaside break any time. Paid extra for bed linen and towels. Quite steep spiral staircase may not be suitable for some.

“Excellent”

Lovely, well equipped house. Travelled with our daughter and baby grandson. Owner was very helpful and provided a high chair and stair gate. We have stayed in quite a few holiday homes in France and this is one of the best. Very clean house. Lots of places to go and the beach is very close. A ride on the steam trains of Chemin de Fer de la Baie de Somme is very exciting for children and well worth a visit.

“Fantastic well equipped property - a home from home”

A wonderful comfortable house with pretty garden. A great location - within walking distance of all amenities and beach. It is also great iif you want to venture a little further into Belguim and discover Bruges - which makes a really interesting day out. There is so much to do in this area for children and grown-ups. We have stayed in many properties in France and we rate this one the best!!!!

“This was a very good choice for us.”

Reviewed 24 Apr 2012

We were looking for a holiday rental within an hours drive of Calais, which was big enough to accommodate 3 adults and two teenagers and was within walking distance or less than 5 minutes drive to the shops, a few restaurants and a sandy beach. We wanted the teenagers to have some independence and be able to go out by themselves. We also wanted WiFI and dishwasher, microwave and washing machine.Renee Andree offered all of this and the bedrooms were spacious. The house was clean and the furnishings were of good quality. There were plenty of different seating areas where we could spread out (e.g conservatory, lounge and T.V room. The T.V is in English and we would have preferred French but this was not a big issue as we were able to play French DVD's bought locally. There is plenty to see within an hours drive and we had some great visits without spending too much money. The owner was extremely helpful and although we didn't meet her she spoke to us on the phone and gave us plenty of information and contact details. There is a spiral wooden staircase which may cause issues for the elderly , the very young or anyone with mobility issues but his accommodation was a very good choice for us and I am happy to recommend it.

“Fantastic location!”

Reviewed 23 Sep 2011

Rene Andre feels like home. From the books to the beds, the conservatory to sit and read in or the garden for a spot of sunbathing, everything is just right. A quick 15 minute down to the beach. The local fishmongers, butchers and icecream shops are a quick walk away, safe enough to let the kids run out and get something on their own! The house is well positioned for trips to Montreuil, Le Touquet and further afield. The location is quiet and no problems with parking. This has been our fourth visit and we hope to come back soon!

“Excellent accommodation in an excellent location!”

Reviewed 18 Sep 2011

We have been to Renee Andree 4 times now which is a reflection of how highly we rate the house. We holiday in France with a party of 5 adults at least once a year and this is the best accommodation that we have found. Add to that the fact that there is so much to see and do within a reasonable distance of Stella Plage we have always had great holidays.

“Brilliant family home in a quiet location but in walking distance of all you need”

Reviewed 6 Sep 2011

This is a lovely home in a quiet road with parking and a secure garden so that you can let your children play freely. A 5 minute walk sees you at the beech although if you have lots of 'clobber' the parking at the beach here is free. There's a great supermarket a very short distance away (you drive past it on the way into Stella Plage) which made it easy when we arrived and meant we didn't need to mess around with Cite Europe (we did however detour via Franglais after leaving Calais). The beds in this house are fantastic and that makes a huge difference to a holiday. The house is very well stocked and there was nothing we wanted that hadn't been provided. We often enjoyed lunch out in the small town during the day and sat out in the garden in the evenings enjoying a bbq or local produce and wine! There is a large market twice a week which was always interesting with bargains to be had. We loved this holiday and have already booked to return next year as there is still so much of the local area we've yet to explore.

“perfect family holiday home”

Reviewed 19 Aug 2011

This was our second visit to Renee Andree. The house is situated in a quiet street which is only a 10 min walk to the shops and only a little further to the beach. The house is spotlessly clean, and all amenities are provided, including garden furniture for all guests. The owners have proved to be a pleasure to deal with. Will certainly visit again. Susan, Gerry & Grandchildren. Hertfordshire
