“Super, cosy, well-appointed hut in beautiful countryside with very helpful owners”

Reviewed 5 Jul 2015

Great place to stay. Very helpful owners made sure we had everything we needed and provided some of the tastiest sausages we've ever eaten! Would recommend.

“It is an idyllic place for a peaceful weekend away”

Reviewed 30 Jul 2014

I really enjoyed the weekend with my partner away from the busy streets of London. The shepherd's hut was beautifully designed and very well kitted out for cooking light meals. The weather was lovely too.

“Perfect to relax”

Reviewed 7 Jul 2014

The shepherd's hut had everything you need to relax and unwind. I would recommend this break to anyone who enjoys the outdoors yet likes a little comfort. It was clean and comfortable, with everything thought of to provide a relaxing environment.

“Brilliant!”

Great place to stay! Really quaint. Back to nature. We had a lovely meal in a friendly local pub, The Plough.

“A second fantastic visit”

We recently had our second visit to Thorpe farm shepherds hut and it was just as wonderful as the first. We will definitely be returning for a third!

“Just outstanding”

An excellent place to stay in a great setting. The hut has everything you need and the owners are the perfect hosts. 14 out of 10.

“Brilliant country retreat with a difference!”

Reviewed 3 Feb 2014

We stayed in the shepherds hut in January and really enjoyed everything about it! It's good value for money, the countryside is lovely and it is really cool to stay in different accommodation. The hut itself is kitted out with everything you need and we enjoyed snuggling playing the provided board games with the log fire on, it was so cosy. We went to the local pub recommended by the owners for a 3 course meal which was amazing and tried the local beers/cider. The animals on the farm were lovely, we spent a lot of time with the pigs who were so friendly. The owners were very helpful and we would definitely visit this lovely holiday home again. Thank you :)

“Little gem, in a beautiful, peaceful location”

Reviewed 30 Aug 2013

My husband and I stayed at the Shepherds Hut after a day at Brands Hatch for one night. It was a perfect retreat - the owners had left us a log fire ready to go and there is a lovely little table and chairs outside. The toilet in the "beach hut" next to it is new and clean. We were both amazed how when we were inside the Shepherds Hut, you wouldn't know that you're in a hut in the middle of a field, you feel like you are in a cottage! A very little one! All done really well and with a lovely pub within walking distance, what more could you ask for to enjoy the countryside.

“Fab!”

Reviewed 6 Aug 2013

We celebrated our wedding anniversary here. The owners had thought of everything, including a 'welcome' basket of local goodies! The Shepherd's Hut is beautifully decorated - 'shabby chic' and really delightful. Lighting relies on solar power (a big plus for us) and there's a woodburning stove. If you really can't live without 'mod cons' this is probably not for you - but for cosy comfort and the increasingly hard to find 'P & Q',, we would recommend Thorpe Farm 100%. Stalisfield is a great base to explore South-East Kent: Faversham (a beautiful market town) is just up the road, and the South Coast and Canterbury are an easy drive away. Whitstable (for seafood/oyster fans) is also easy to access, as is Oare (bird watching) and Herne Bay. We are planning a return journey in the Autumn - the area is criss-crossed with Public Footpaths that 4 days didn't give us enough time to explore!.
