Description

Peeler's Rest is self-catering holiday accommodation located in the picturesque fishing of Staithes, near Whitby, on the north east coast of England. Whether you enjoy coast or country a visit to Staithes offers the best of both worlds. Peeler's Rest joins on to the village's former police house which was built in the 1920's. The single storey building was added some years later and formed the police office. The present owners have transformed the office into a bedroom, lounge, kitchen area and shower room. The property can now accommodate up to 2 adults and 1 child with all the facilities required for a comfortable and relaxing break away. We are open to negotiation on the length of stay so call if you need to.

Just returned from our 2nd stay at Keepers rest, once again the house was spotless with everything you could need. Had the pleasure of meeting Lee this time, he was very friendly and helpful. The location and parking is priceless and we will return

“Clean and a good base”

Peelers Rest is a great base to explore the surrounding area from. Very clean accommodation, welcoming hosts and all you need for your stay. Staithes itself is pretty, colourful and a great spot to paddle, swim or rock pool.

"Peeler's Rest" is ideally situated at the top of the steep hil which runsl down into the very pretty Staithes village, with easy access to the bus stop on the main road for trips to Runswick Bay, Whitby or Saltburn to name but a few of the lovely places along this coast. We found the bungalow very comfortable with everything we needed for our 3 night stay & Lee, the owner, is very friendly & hospitable. There are good cooking facilities in the bungalow but for our short stay we ate at several of the excellent local eateries especially the Fox & Hounds pub & the Captain Cook Inn - the nearest two pubs. We also had an excellent evening meal at the Runcible Spoon, Hinderwell which specialises in Pizzas but has other delicious specials also. By chance we were staying during the wonderful Arts & Heritage Festival in the old part of Staithes & it was magical. We would definitely like to go again.

“Very comfortable lodging in a good location”

Very comfortable cottage, very clean and spacious and dog friendly. Parking on site and a short walk to bus stop for whitby etc 5 minute walk to Staithes Harbour and pubs restaurants etc Accomodation had everything you needed and more. Pleasent hosts Highly recommended

The Peelers Rest is not in the harbour, so don't like us go down to the harbour, as there is not a lot of road space. The Peelers Rest has its own parking space for one car for the people who rent this self catering accommodation. Worth pointing out it is just as you drive into Staithes. The Proprietors are very welcoming and nothing is too much trouble, however, we did not need the proprietors to do anything has everything was there, and what WE Liked was even though the accommodation is next to the house, we did not feel not once that our privacy was interrupted.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

If Lee (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your holiday booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
