From the owner

Dunroamin is a 200 year old Grade II listed fisherman's cottage, in the heart of the old village. It has been lovingly renovated over the last year to provide comfortable accommodation for four people, with stylish but practical facilities including twin sinks in the house bathroom, a downstairs cloakroom, and a second bedroom which can be twin or double.

Situated on a quiet alley between the High Street and the Beck, Dunroamin has the enviable advantage of an enclosed sunny south-facing yard.

Dunroamin is our beloved escape in our most favourite happy place. If you would like to book a 3, 4 or 7 night break please do not hesitate to contact me for prices and availability. We hope that you will love it as much as we do.

Throughout the cottage we have married the old with the new: original polished floorboards upstairs have been complemented by reclaimed boards downstairs; newly plastered and painted walls sit alongside those we have chosen to leave unfinished as we believe they are too beautiful to cover.

The kitchen offers modern facilities with full oven and hob, dishwasher, microwave and fridge. Well equipped for cooking and dining at home. Dining table and benches to seat four next to an exposed stone wall. Access to a washer/dryer and small freezer in the outhouse if required.

The living room has a multi-fuel burner, sofa and two mid century style chairs. Flatscreen Smart TV with DVD player. Unlimited WiFi.

The house bathroom has twin sinks sat on reclaimed metal cabinets from an Eastern European military base, a power shower and bath tub, loo, illuminated heated mirror and heated towel rail. In addition the downstairs cloakroom offers extra facilities with a loo and corner sink.

The master bedroom with double bed and art deco dressing table has exposed stone walls to two sides.

The back bedroom has a chest of drawers and heated towel rail. It can be arranged as a standard double or two small (2'3" wide) singles, as the mattresses can be zipped together. Please advise at time of booking how you wish the room to be set.

The sheltered front yard is the perfect place to soak up the sun from early morning til late afternoon and provides the rare opportunity in Staithes to enjoy al fresco dining or a space to BBQ.

There are infrared mirror panels in all rooms which can provide an extra source of heating for short periods of time only.

Please note: there is no handrail on the stairs; both bedrooms have sloping ceilings so headroom is restricted towards the outside walls; some doorways are also low.

Whilst we ourselves will not be in the village during your stay our property manager lives on the High Street and is available 24/7.
