Just outside the historic village of Saint Remy de Provence, you will find our secluded gem. With four bedrooms and 3 1/2 baths, and covering a roomy 210 square meters (2,260 sq. ft.), this is an authentic yet modernized Provencal villa. Its French owners, who have lived in many countries, have applied international standards of comfort, taste, and amenities, all chosen to enhance your enjoyment of the renowned Provencal lifestyle. The house is quiet, functional, and well laid out, with living quarters to one side and bedrooms to the other. The master bedroom features its own en suite bath. Awaiting you outside are a child-safe, very private pool, a terrace, large (1500 sq. meter) landscaped grounds, and ample space for lounging or entertaining, all screened by hedges, pines, flowering laurels and lavender, with timeless olive groves and vineyards nearby.The location, bordering the Alpilles Parc Reserve, is ideal for exploring Provence.

Lovely Saint Remy is an easy stroll away. Hiking and biking trails originate a few hundred meters from the house. The next “street” over is an actual Roman road, the Via Domitia, which leads to the ancient site of Glanum less than three km. distant. Day trips might include many close-by beauty spots on the Mediterranean and the Rhone, and historic Provencal towns such as Arles and Avignon.


Every aspect of Mas Aurelia has been designed for playing host in the classic Provencal manner. The house sleeps nine people very comfortably, and can just as comfortably entertain a dozen or more during the day. Living room, dining room and eat-in kitchen are open, airy and light. A large and expandable teak table and 10 chairs can be set on the terrace under the shade of the house, or under the trees in the yard. A new, large Weber barbecue awaits your grilling talents. The pool makes an especially wonderful display at night: turn on the pool lights, and just a few inside lamps, and enjoy brilliant star-lit skies framed by the surrounding pines.

The house is equipped with cable TV in English (BBC, CNN), local phone and internet (Wifi). In the Kitchen you will find a gas stove, an oven, a microwave, a toaster, a kettle, a coffee machine, a large refrigerator and freezer with ice dispenser and a dishwasher. All the utensils and cookware needed to cook a proper French meal if you so desire.

​THE MASTER BEDROOM The large (42 sq. meter) master suite, with south and west exposures, includes a Queen bed on the main level, and a single bed on the mezzanine, along with an en suite bath (shower, sink, toilet) and two closets.

​THE OLIVE TREE BEDROOM This large (20 sq. meter) room is decorated in green and sand tones, giving it a very relaxing and comfy feeling. The room also has two closets.

THE WHITE BULL BEDROOM A large white-paper bull's head on a deep blue wall sets this room's theme and character. A smaller (10 sq. meter) space that holds two single beds and a single closet, the bedroom has views of the pool and back yard, and is close to the Olive Tree Bedroom.

THE MAZET BEDROOM (Guest House) Set apart from the main villa, this “mazet” or guest house is ideal for those seeking a bit of independence and quiet. Close by the pool, it is a large (23 sq. meter) space with its own full bath, hot water heater, and ceiling fan, along with a Queen bed and two closets.

The Olive Tree and White Bull bedrooms share a full bathroom with a tub and coarse marble tiling throughout. There is another independent toilet with a small sink.

The Provence region

The region of Provence is world-renouned for its history, traditions, great foods and wines. The Romans made the region into the first Roman province beyond the Alps and called it Provincia Romana, which evolved into the present name. Tot this day, it retains a distinct cultural and linguistic identity, particularly in the interior of the region. Cezanne, Van Gogh and many more artist have called this region home and have left visible testimonies of their stays. Food is equally appealing and olive oils, Rose wines, Ratatouille and Pistou all originate here.


Our advice? Rent a bike (electric or not depending on your mood) and visit, visit, visit. There is a seemingly endless supply of incredible landscapes to see from Les Baux de Provence to Glanum or Maussane and Egalieres. A few yards from the house there are the famous "GR" trails which will take you around most notable sites including the top of the Alpilles mountain range. From there you can see the Mediterranean. The market on Wednesday in Saint Remy is unmissable. The sights, flavours and smells are enchaining.

"Splendid location - Hervorragend"

Very nice mediterranien villa in a quiet and green surrounding at the outskirts. The kitchen is fully equipped - you will find all things you need for cooking as well as fine wine glasses for the Provence Rosé. We liked the weber grill on the terrace, the big table in the courtyard under a shadow tree and the kitchen. The children enjoyed the 8m pool which is well maintained. The rooms are good, beds very good and the big masterroom is as spatious as a hall. The doors are mediterranian style, not very isolated against noise but it was okay as the house is very pleasant. We met the owner at the end of our stay, he is very friendly, speaking french and englisch (and can be contacted in German). St. Remy is one of the best locations to visit Provence. You will find a lot of shops in the medieval Center as well as 10 bakerys! From the house it is a 20 minutes walk to the center or you use the car. Every week you can go to the arena for bullfights. Very funny is the Taureau Piscine (Bull in the pool), where young people from the town are playing with bulls. If you like wine, you will find winery's in walking distance from the house. The deposit was returned immediately after leaving via Paypal. We enjoyed the house, the place and Provence.

"An idyllic place to stay in rural Provence."

Mas Aurelia has excellent facilities which suited our family group ( aged 25 to 63) very well. We have brought back memories of relaxing in and by the pool, and evening Bar B Q's in a private and secluded setting. Yet the Villa is near enough to the town to collect croissants in the morning, St Remy is an lovely town with an old centre but manages not to be 'touristy'. The are many good restaurants and it is worth taking an evening stroll to decide where to eat. We found an exceellent restaurant in a little courtyard which served superb food at a very reasonable price. There are many historic places to visit in the area. A highlight of our week was canoeing down the River Gard under the Pont du Gard. It took us just under an hour drive to Collias to start the 8 Km trip down river.

"wonderful house in St. Rémy"

We stayed in Mas Aurelia and had a wonderful time. The house and yard were beautiful and supplied everything we needed. We swam in the pool, walked to town, and cooked delicious meals in the kitchen. Out of all the villages we visited in Provence, St. Rémy was our favorite. It was small enough to be peaceful, yet large enough to sample different restaurants and bakeries. The people were friendly and the town was clean and full of charm. The owner was very easy to work with and communicated in English through tripadvisor. If we ever return to St. Rémy, we'd love to stay at Mas Aurelia again.

"Loved it !"

The house is large and confortable, very well maintained with all the amenities. It's decorated with taste. The garden is big with some shade areas much appreciated during the warmest hours of the day. We did enjoy the large pool. All together, it's a wonderful location. It's quite and very cozy. The little house on the side is a plus with it's large bedroom and own bathroom. The property is well located, not too far from the city center (you could even walk to there) and very close to the nature. I will definitely go back.

"Pleasant and quiet, most enjoyable stay"

Very nice green surroundings by the great pool. Everyone really enjoyed our time there. Very functional house and well decorated. St Rémy's village is enchanting and I recommend the Wednesday market. My brothers enjoyed cycling in the Alpilles hills nearby and me and my mom loved the hiking trails.
