You wake up on a beautiful morning in Provence. You walk over to the French doors which open on to your bedroom terrace and you step outside. There, across the valley in front of you, bathed in the morning sunlight are the medieval ramparts, the church tower and the mellow stone houses of St. Paul de Vence – one of the most beautiful “Village Perche” in the South of France. Apartment Arabane is on the ground floor at the end of the building with its own secluded courtyard garden.This spacious apartment has recently been renovated to a high standard including a new kitchen, new bathrooms and air-conditioning in both bedrooms. The apartment is tastefully decorated in a contemporary South of France style with good quality fixtures and furnishings. The new bathrooms are particularly stylish.The accommodation comprises a large welcoming entrance hall opening on to a comfortable double aspect living room arranged around an open fireplace and with an adjacent dining area. The new stylish kitchen is to the right of the entrance hall and can be accessed through a door off the dining area.A corridor leads off the other side of the living room giving access to the two spacious bedrooms – one double and one twin room. The master bedroom has an en-suite bathroom and the twin room has an adjacent shower room and separate WC. There is also a separate guest WC.Each bedroom is tastefully furnished in contemporary style with light oak furniture. The master bedroom has a king size double bed and the twin room has 2 x 90cm single beds. The beds have luxury cotton sheets and ample pillows and there is air-conditioning to make the warm summer nights even more comfortable. When the air-conditioning is not required the units are reversible to offer warm air heating for Autumn and Winter visits when there is also the opportunity to have a log fire in the comfortable living room.Both bedrooms and the living room have French doors which open on to a wide terrace balcony which runs across the full width of the property. Also accessed from the living room, at the end of the terrace, there is a private secluded garden courtyard with a BBQ, outdoor dining facilities and sunbed loungers.The apartment has good wi-fi access and there is also a DVD player.

Apartment Arabane in the village of St. Paul de Vence offers an ideal base from which to explore the surrounding area and indeed the whole of the Cote d'Azur.Within a short drive you have Vence – the nearest large town with its historic heart surrounded by larger shops, restaurants and other amenities including the famous Matisse Chapel. Just a little further into the hills you come to another beautiful “Village Perche” – Tourrettes sur Loup. Known as the Cite des Violettes because the area around Tourrettes use to supply violets for the perfume industry in Grasse. There are still some local violet growers and a violet museum in the village. In addition Tourrettes sur Loup has many artisans making a variety of beautiful products in wood, jewellery, sculpture and of course art in its many ateliers along the medieval Grande Rue. Tourrettes also has a thriving café and restaurant scene including a Michelin starred restaurant.Just beyond Tourrettes is the famous Gorges du Loup with its waterfalls and spectacular scenery leading up to one of the areas highest medieval villages – Gourdon – perched on a rocky outcrop with outstanding views right down to the sea.Exploring the CoastThe nearest beach to St. Paul de Vence is 15 minutes away at Cagnes sur Mer. Here you can enjoy miles of recently renovated promenade, sample one of the many beachside restaurants or visit Renoir's House and Museum.

Conveniently located just 20 minutes from Nice airport and the coast St. Paul de Vence enjoys an international reputation as the village of art and artists. It is a beautifully preserved medieval village surrounded on all sides by ancient ramparts offering spectacular views of the surrounding countryside and the coast. Its narrow streets, nearly all pedestrianized and filled with art galleries and other beautiful shops and restaurants, wind their way around the village to the historic church at the top.Just outside the main medieval gateway, near the ramparts you will find the Colombe d'Or restaurant and hotel – one of the most famous restaurants on the Cote d'Azur with its long association with famous artists and more recently, film stars and the rich and famous. Nearby is its sister establishment the Café de la Place with its Parisian style bar and large covered terrace. Here you can sit with a drink or enjoy a lunch and watch the local “boules” players on the boule terrain next to the terrace.The art galleries of St. Paul bring visitors from all over the world particularly the priceless contemporary art of the Fondation Maeght.
